Forum rules
Not many rules really, this board being aimed at technical issues, it shouldn't fall foul (hopefully) of some of the more personal issues that can affect forums.

Rule 1 - Is that you need to think very carefully before posting anything technical or asking anything technical relating to the security system of the car - See 'Security Issues' sticky for more info.

Rule 2 - We (MGF Register) do not support copyright infringement and therefore references to CD ROM, PDF versions or paper copies of the workshop manual (for instance) should not be posted on the forum. We don't want to get into trouble and we'd rather sell you a genuine hard copy through our Regalia shop anyway! :)

Because advice is honestly and freely given in this technical section, much of it will be amateur experienced based, so any information is given in good faith and is not guaranteed as correct.

Engine light, help please

Post by kevocouk » Sat Feb 03, 2018 6:08 pm

So i replaced my Brake pads today on my 2003 160 TF, took it for a drive around the block and my engine light has come on.
I have a cheap code reader which does read one code but displays NA 01/01 instead of a fault code.

Does anyone have any ideas please?

“NA 01/01” means “the monitor is not supported on this vehicle”. Such a shame, I was just over in Essex on Saturday and had my PScan with me. But I’m sure someone local will also have one to help you out.

I had the same code when I purchased my Tf and the car is low mileage and had hardly been used. My friend reset the code and the light went out. Now as a daily driver I havent had the problem since.

The heater circuit is built in to the lambda probe. It helps get the probe up to operating temp and switch over to more economical mapping quicker.

Also p0141 hints to the post cat sensor, the one in the 90 degree angle to the left of the cat. Can be a pain to remove. I usually cut the wires (unplug first!), put a “specially designed” 22mm ring spanner (other end cut off to slide on extension) onto the sensors hex bottom, heat up with a gas torch and then crack it open.
