wiper for the hardtop window

Having finally got my F back on the road ('96 model with upgrades) I was getting annoyed at having to wipe muck off the window on the hard top, which raises the question, has anyone ever fitted a rear window wiper to a hard top? Looking at it, I *think* there is room for a motor there, but I'm not about to try this unless somebody has trodden the same path before me!

it was hard enough to get the window heater working - thanks to a 2015 post mentioning that the relay socket on these older models is NOT in the row of relays, but is so comprehensively tucked up behind the fuse panel that I only located it becasue I knew it had to be there! But I dont want to start on a whole new venture if its virgin territory!

All the other upgrades work now - completely changed interior - electric mirrors and quad stereo - so I'm thinking about the next non-engine upgrade... :D

(and if anyone wants to know how to change out the shell of an electric wing mirror, just ask!)

Blimey, where has that famous British exploratory spirit gone?

It’s your idea, so step in the shoes of Brunel, Livingstone and all the others and get the thing working. :thumbsu: Then do a nice how-to write up and post it here. 8-) Time to turn the page to another chapter of the never ending MG modding history!

THIS
(well said Mykel)

If you can get hold of the set up from a classic mini these are cable driven so the motor can be located where ever you need to.

However the best solution is to ditch the hard top, it doesn't matter if the rear window is grubby if the roof is down.

Or you could just buy a bottle of "RainX" and there's no need for a wiper...

I agree, I've used RainX for some years now and I find it's really effective.
