Forum rules
Not many rules really, this board being aimed at technical issues, it shouldn't fall foul (hopefully) of some of the more personal issues that can affect forums.

Rule 1 - Is that you need to think very carefully before posting anything technical or asking anything technical relating to the security system of the car - See 'Security Issues' sticky for more info.

Rule 2 - We (MGF Register) do not support copyright infringement and therefore references to CD ROM, PDF versions or paper copies of the workshop manual (for instance) should not be posted on the forum. We don't want to get into trouble and we'd rather sell you a genuine hard copy through our Regalia shop anyway! :)

Because advice is honestly and freely given in this technical section, much of it will be amateur experienced based, so any information is given in good faith and is not guaranteed as correct.

Suplex Kit

Post by FUSION » Mon Feb 19, 2018 12:18 pm

Hydragas units removed and Suplex kit installed on my MGF VVC 1997 (89000 miles) and have done 600 miles since. All knuckle joints changed at same time. Both rear ones had plastic locating/seat broken. Also removed 16 inch wheels and fitted original 15 inch and tyre pressures set at 24psi front and 30psi rear. 4 wheel alignment done after install. Significant improvement in ride. Am now looking at installing a Vehicle Handling Solutions torsional kit. Have looked on ebay but nothing there. Anyone on here know of one that may be available?

You could ask one of the breakers if they have one from a TF, where they were fitted as standard.

Did VHS beef up the anti roll bars?

Were they bigger on the TF?

I thought this was about the torsional stiffness kit (as described here on Rob’s site), not the arb?

No, it's about VHS.

http://www.vehiclehandlingsolutions.com/road_cars.htm - the brace kit and subframe mounts are the same as fitted by MG to the TF.

Have eventually contacted Andy Kitson at VHS and ordered bracing and sub frame mounts kits for delivery this week. Thank you for the responses.

VHS do the bracing kits and they do the 85LE upgraded front ARB and double shear mounted drop links as a kit :)

Early TF front ARBs are a direct swap for the MGF. At the rear is another story...
