Just taken a VVC 145 bhp year 2000 for it french MOT. It failed on emmissions, and the tester told us the lamba reading was to high.
Purchased a Bosch unit, but it had the wrong plug on it.
managed to fit it, although the hole was very tight, as this VVC has the sensor high on the exhaust manifold rather than in the downpipe.
Anyway went for a retest and the lamba is fine at idle, but he says it is as if it disappears as as soon as you rev it. no readings??
I have used him many times with MG's, and he almost always right about what the car needs to get past the emmissions.
However this time no ideas as to what could be causing the issue?
I should say that I lengthened the wires to make it easier to fit. Could this be a problem.
Any ideas people?
Thanks
Dave

Re: vvc lamba sensor issue.
Making the wires longer won't be a problem if the connections are sound.
When he loses lambda is that electricly or gas.

I have a new cat here, but not sure it will help, but might be worth a fit
