Not many rules really, this board being aimed at technical issues, it shouldn't fall foul (hopefully) of some of the more personal issues that can affect forums.

We don't want to get into trouble and we'd rather sell you a genuine hard copy through our Regalia shop anyway! :)

Because advice is honestly and freely given in this technical section, much of it will be amateur experienced based, so any information is given in good faith and is not guaranteed as correct.

Thanks for the update - that's a really good result and the 3-way T in brass seems a really good upgrade. Where did Will get it from?

I do not know where Will got the T from. Search Custom MG for his Facebook pages to contact. Now moved on to the hood not folding down flat enough to fit a tonneau cover. Not uncommon according to other forum posts. Appears to be that if you have one that sticks up beware as you may crack glass by pushing too hard or get a leak between windows and hood if you fiddle with the frame mounts.

Just lift the first bar up and the hood will lie flat. The elastic straps have probably lost their elasticity.

Unfortunately this is not the famous hood jamming situation. The hood easily folds as per usual first bar up etc. But when seated in the hood well the frame sits too high for a hood stowage cover(Prestige). Identical to Jim Martin ‘Hood problem’ on this same forum. His photos replicate my frame position. Forced compression of the frame could break the glass window. Results of online searches reveal no obvious cause but seems to be confined to glass windowed hoods which have additional straps between the bow rail above the window and rear base rail to provide additional support of the heavier glass. Consensus is that if the hood otherwise fits and keeps out the rain leave well alone.

Try some silicone spray lube on the joints, worked for me.

Try and get a can with a straw as it is easier to direct.

Firstly, I have had a customer on my support forum report good results replacing his Continental ECU with an MG Rover ECU, and then remapping it with SAWS.
My understanding is that the MG Rover ECU doesn't necessarily need to be a specific model (though it can't be from a Rover 75/ZT or Freelander) because SAWS can change the Firmware and Map a whole range of MG Rover ECUs to work with different engines.
You would need to talk to them to get more details.

Secondly, if anyone does end up with a dead Continental ECU then please can I have it?
Pscan doesn't work so well with the Continental ECUs. It can read error codes and live data but stuff like maps and reading the VIN number don't work.
I would love to fix that but I need one of these ECUs to do it.
