MG TF Fuel Cap Replacement

Our TF has a tired looking Fuel Cap, so I bought a new replacement part (Genuine MG/Rover) and was aware that I need to swap the lock barrel over. But I never got around to fitting it. In the meantime I bought one of those nice chrome surrounds, and I and now trying to fit that.

But I am confused The chrome part is just the surround, with no hex bolts. It looks like some of the bolts are false, and a few are real(?) .. on the chromed part some holes are larger than others.

I assumed (perhaps incorrectly) that all I needed to do to fit this part was undo the hex bolts from the old one and bolt the old barrel back on. But None of the hex bolts on the cap seem to undo.

Can anyone explain whether all these bolts are false or what, or if you have done this job yourself, how to fit it?

All the Hex bolts are false, you need to carefully prise the surround away from the rear piece. From memory you have to cut the tip of the blue part off to release the lock, but be careful to insert it the correct way up in the new filler. I'm sure someone with better knowledge will be along soon.
