Anyone know where I can get a windscreen wiper motor that works?

I got caught in a thunderstorm and my protective measures got inundated.

Rimmers, MG Obsession, Mike Satur etc are all out of stock

Have you tried Darren at Mgfntfbitz. Im always picking up 2nd hand bits from him. His website is mostly new stuff but he usually has most 2nd hand parts in stock even down to whole subframes and engines.

Mgfntfbitz managed to find me a wiper motor that will fit,
however there's not many new ones left now at any price.

Make sure that the underbonnet lining goes over the motor.

Mike Satur is working on modifying the wiring on a part that can be sourced new.

Not quite ready yet and I couldn't wait but hopefully they get this new source sorted out soon.

+1 on what Geoff says. You probably don't need to work out why I know

BTW, you can fit a later TF wiper motor to an MGF, but you have to remove the plugs from both, and fit the MGF plug to the TF wiper harness. I have done this previously (many many years ago) and not had any problems

Not Guilty !! The car had a full MG Dealership Service History. We took it to Switzerland for a Skiing Holiday. Loaded to drive home, we had no wipers or screen wash with the snow coming down. The motor was seized due to water in it freezing Fortunately the current to the seized motor thawed it out. We carried a Litre of minus 20 Degrees screen wash in the boot. Topping up the tank finally melted the frozen washer. Our chosen Hotel in Reims had a heated underground car park.

BTW, you can fit a later TF wiper motor to an MGF, but you have to remove the plugs from both, and fit the MGF plug to the TF wiper harness. I have done this previously (many many years ago) and not had any problems

Indeed this is the only option now for an F. Easily swapped over though. I should have done the same many years ago
and I wouldn't have the problem now.

I don't quite understand this comment - I have just refitted my wiper motor and the
underbonnet lining doesn't seal between the wiper motor and the road. In my mind it
only seems to funnel any water upwards towards the wipers.

I have refitted anyhow as it stops my spare coolant ( that I have never used ) and jack from falling out.

I am overjoyed to listen to the nice quiet new wiper motor and the screen now swept clean of rain droplets.

Its more to protect it from rain at the top i think.

Yes, it just stops rain from dropping directly on the motor, getting inside and flooding and corroding it.
