hello again all,
I've had a look at the mechanic recommendations sections but can't see one very close to me. I 'm looking for someone to go over my new mg change the belts (it's a r reg vvc) and possible a few other bits , depending on what people would advise with a car that has done 109 thousand miles. I live in worcester.
cheers adam

Forum rules
Not many rules really, this board being aimed at technical issues, it shouldn't fall foul (hopefully) of some of the more personal issues that can affect forums.
Rule 1 - Is that you need to think very carefully before posting anything technical or asking anything technical relating to the security system of the car - See 'Security Issues' sticky for more info.
Rule 2 - We (MGF Register) do not support copyright infringement and therefore references to CD ROM, PDF versions or paper copies of the workshop manual (for instance) should not be posted on the forum. We don't want to get into trouble and we'd rather sell you a genuine hard copy through our Regalia shop anyway!
Because advice is honestly and freely given in this technical section, much of it will be amateur experienced based, so any information is given in good faith and is not guaranteed as correct.

Adam,
This guy is well worth a call - he comes to you - and does lots of Fs with loads of great feedback from grateful owners. I am sure he will sort the revs and any other probs!

Re: mgf mechanic recommendations
thanks for the link, unfortunately he is over 100 miles from me so a bit to far. I do have a mechanic who does my discovery who I trust but he has never repaired mgf's before, what are peoples opinion of using an experienced mechanic but one who has not worked on this particular vehicle before? Is a specialist best?

The above is a mobile mechanic so does come to you. He has travelled further than a 100 miles at a price.breakers wrote:thanks for the link, unfortunately he is over 100 miles from me so a bit to far. You may also like to check out other mechanics or garages on PeteV's site http://www.mgf-tf-central.co.uk/links-service.shtml.Techspeed or the MGF Centre are probably the nearest to you if you wish to stay with a specialist. An experienced mechanic should be able to do the work but the F/TF do have a few things, especially with the cooling system that they need to know about before working on the car. With a good manual they should be able to deal with the F/TF with no problem.

I would go with Colin's recommendation. I use them as they know what they are doing and have a very reasonable man-hour rate.colintf wrote:techspeed would get my vote / recommendation!
