Let's get the order up to ten - and I'll press the big green button on the purchase! :D

Awesome: once I get 10 firm expressions of interest, I'll get on the phone to Richard.

Richard will want to paid by one person for the whole order - so I'll need to give this some thought as my PayPal does not put payments into my current account... Any one have any suggestions?

Just to add to this, Uroglass make the screens for Ricky Evans (info found over on Seloc) so maybe worth a call?

As for payment, how was the payment arranged for the Swedish alloys way back when?

I wasn't involved with that group purchase - but would like to know?

Interesting that we have the source for the screens - I could approach them directly, but they may prefer to go through Ricky Evans, we'll see. The price that Richard was quoting is less than a standard screen from X-Part, so I didn't really look into it much further at the time.

Might be worth asking - http://uroglas.com/index.html

The ZS ones that Ricky Evens has supplied were made overseas, not sure where but they arrived in the UK by container.

Could be interested (Seriously), but could a "group fitting" day be organised?

That way, the whole electrics / switchgear / operation could be solved in one fell swoop ;)

I did speak to a local windscreen fitter at the last attempt to get the group buy off the ground. I could speak to him again? The electrics is an interesting question. On project Shed at the moment, I have a couple of electric fan heaters on the rear demist circuit - and that works a treat. Whether you'd want to do that on a road car? Not sure - I don't really see why not - or you could fit an alternative switch. Either way, I wonder how many people would want to work out their own solution?

Also bear in mind folks that the screens are sold without an electrical plug for the heater elements - so good and bad: bad that you'll have to sort out your own electrical connector, but good because if you've sourced your own, you don't need to worry about figuring out what's already there!

Good news for Mk2 MGF and TF owners for a switch, freelander 01 to 04MY has a rare heated screen option from the factory, the bad news it's mounted sideways...

Oooh! That's cool! 8-)

I take it that option didn't exist for earlier cars then?

I'll do a new tally of the definitely interesteds - Nick, can I tempt you to join the group buy? ;)

I've no funds right now - but perhaps later in the year I'll have the money to go ahead and make this happen: I need to shed a little more weight from Project Shed, and have a slightly more effective demisting solution than a couple of eBay electric hair driers!

Good news - Chris Johnson has put together another group buy for these heated windscreens from Ricky Evans. Same deal as before - but the price has gone up :( Now £225 + VAT for a minimum order of 5, or £205 + VAT for a minimum order of 10.

The good news is that Chris already has enough orders for 8 of these units - so only two more definite orders are required to reach the cheaper bulk-buy purchase price.

I've just heard from Chris - the deadline for deposits is the 15th September - and now he has 10 orders for the screen, so we're looking at the lower price. :)

Ideal for me with a pair of electrical demisters that make noise but little heat and an owner with an increasing desire to lose as much weight from the car as possible!

I'll be paying a deposit tonight. I have one of their screens in my ZS, use it all the time.
