Embed it in Silicone Rubber and hold it with Duct tape for 12 Hours, I removed mine recently after 16 years with no problem when they were broken by Quicks MG Dealers.

I screwed a self tapper into my lens when I broke it, left enough sticking out to sit in the hole on the bumper, it stayed there for 12 months even after I had a slight front ender

The cable tie method is the one to use - google it.

Second vote for the cable tie method, I've done Italy via Germany twice with mine like this.
