Is this the upgraded one for a 97 vvc? For some reason I have it in my head the upgrade one is 56mm?

It is the upgraded alloy one fitted to the TF which can be retro fitted to the F to replace its smaller plastic one.

I've fitted one to my 2000 F VVC and think the improvement in throttle response is amazing for a £40 spend and half hour bolting it on!

Don't know about a 56mm TB.

56mm TBs are not recommended as they do not have the correct connections for the K series IACV.

56mm are from the older Rover Tomcat cars, and actually cause a small drop in power.

Ah right... do all f's have plastic throttle bodies then?

my 96VCC F has a metal throttle body... so would thay be 48 or 52mm?

Not sure, you'd have to have a look at the part number or the 52mm TB has '52' in a circle on it but not sure if they're visible when it's fitted...

Some did have metal 48mm ones I I remember correctly they swapped them to plastic the same time as the manifold changed, I presume, it's around somewhere I recall reading about it on one of the forums or Ultimate MGF perhaps
