WANTED. TF >£1800 leather seats a must!

I'm looking to buy my forth MG. I'm on a low budget this time, I'm only really interested in blue, yellow, white, red or black, but get in touch anyway if you have something else.
Head gasket and cam belt done is a given. Bodywork must be good. I have my eye on a 2004 reg at the moment, but haven't been able to go up and see it.
Send me a PM.

It's easy to swap seats.

The 2005 model year TF's in my opinion are the one's to go for with the revised so called comfort suspension but they also provide superb handling.

Thanks, my budget may not match a 2005. Off to see one tomorrow, but open to looking at more.

Saw a terrible one this morning, I know I'm on a budget, but come on. Obvious front and rear impacts. Bumpers 'didn't quite' fit. Oh dear. I want my LE500 back!

Might be worth a phone call, and a trip to the Midlands. https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds ... le/7914825

Mine is for sale. Silver though. Head Gasket & Water Pump done just under 3 years ago but not done much miles since.
My advert is in this section.

Thanks Jacko, but I just don't like them in silver. Good luck with the sale.
Viewing two this weekend. Fingers crossed!

On this point. I planned on going to see this one (A.M.C dealership). When I emailed them to ask about Head Gasket/Cam belt, I was told I could come and look at the receipts myself to see if they were done. A previous email to ask for interior photographs was just ignored.

I later phoned the dealership to ask and was told they were far too busy to check this information as they sell over 300 cars. I told them in that case I was far too busy to come and see the car, they said no problem, we'll sell it to someone else.

I know it's only a 2K motor, but come on, a little professionalism!

Hi, I have a 2004 Solar Red TF 135 that I could be tempted to sell for the right offer.
It has cream Oxford leather seats with matching cream/beige interior and wood/leather steering wheel, plus wood look centre console and door trims. It has the 4 pot AP front calipers and 16" alloys with Falken tyres - the rears are virtually new. It has the 2005 model year 'comfort' suspension set up. Cam belt was recently changed and a low coolant alarm fitted, plus new ball joints for MOT which runs to October 2018 and a recent new clutch slave cylinder.
Has full service history, brilliant bodywork and runs like a dream. However, I have no documents to say the head gasket has ever been changed in its 62,000 miles, but as the engine ran so sweet, I was reluctant to disturb it and trips to Scotland and the South Coast have not revealed any issues. Hence I only had the coolant alarm fitted as a precaution.
I was looking for £2,500 which would include a colour matched Solar red hard top.
I'm only considering selling as I sold an immaculate Trophy 160 earlier this year and I miss it like crazy.
Let me know if it's of interest and I'll send you some photos.
Thanks, Phil

It's very tempting Phil, but I'm afraid my top limit is 2K.
I am looking at one this weekend. I was supposed to go and see it last weekend, but who knew banks close at 1pm on a Saturday (everyone but me apparently!).

Good luck with the viewing this weekend, but if it doesn't come off, let me know. I could take the hardtop out of the equation to get much closer to your budget if it helped.

WOW, that is something quite special Phil! The cream leather interior and wood steering wheel are just epic!
It will make someone very happy if you ever do sell it. I've kinda got my heart set on a hard top now as the one I'm seeing this weekend has one.
I've taken the money out of the bank, let's hope it's not a dog.

Hi and thank you for your kind words about my TF. I have to agree, it's pretty special in that spec and drives spot on. I took it out over the weekend and fell in love with it again, so probably best that I hang on to it.
Good luck with the car you were going to see this weekend. I hope it turns out to be a good one! Phil

So after a few false starts and some decidedly dishonest advertising, in the end I got my car...

...however it isn't a TF

In the end I bought a Renault Wind. Had it a day and love it. It's not an MG and though it is stylish, I can't get my head around the fact it's a Renault. I own a Renault.

My main issue was that the budget I had was too low for the MG I wanted, which I suppose had to be another LE500. I test drove a new MG ZS, and I liked it, but in the end didn't want to commit for 5 years HP.
