Old alternator

Does anybody take old alternators and refurb them? I have one just removed from my MGF and rather than just bin it I was wondering if anyone wanted it free of charge.
Not sure if it's a refurbable item but thought I'd ask anyway.
I will be going on Chairmans run in March (hopefully) and to POL in April (definitely) so can bring it with me to save postage costs or collection hassle.
