MGF Freestyle

Post by itsonlyme54 » Mon Apr 02, 2018 6:57 pm

Some members here will know that I have an arrangement with my local breaker, any MG/Rover that enters the yard is mine subject to price negotiation, I have bought this car and many others hoping that they will be saved and the majority have.

This car has had cambelt failure, sometimes I am too late as a Certificate of Destruction is issued by staff that do not agree with me, I am awaiting confirmation of this, the car has just over 100k, its very clean with full black leather seats in good condition, its a VVC.

Should the CoD be enforced I will have to break this car, if not it will be for sale with a full MOT and obviously in good running order, fingers crossed for this one.

I cannot upload a picture of this 51 plate Freestyle as its too big and I do not know how to reduce its size, any help would be appreciated thanks.

Do you have Flickr or similar web hosting site you can put it on? I can use that to post a picture. Or I could PM you an email address and you could send me a photo and I'll upload here.

Who in the Good Lord’s name has the power to issue a CoD just because of a snapped cam belt? This isn’t safety related even slightly and an easy fix, too.

Common sense is hard to be found these days, I guess …

Could it still be exported? Would definitely be interested.

Let's hope it works, the car certainly looks well worth the effort.

If a CoD has been issued, then it should be a cube by now. A sxrapyard cannot issue a CoD, they just report scrapping it to the DVLA.

I'd hazard a guess that the last owner wrongly thought they had to have a CoD to confirm their car was scrapped, so sold it for lessmoney in exchange for it not being stripped or sold on.

Gone from DVLA website, very sad end to yet another F that didn't deserve it.

If you haven’t started breaking it, I’d still be interested to take it over here. Could you please pm me the VIN so I can check with the local authorities if I could get it registered to save it, Tony?

If it needs to be scrapped, I’d be very, very interested in the wheels!
