MG TF for sale

Post by J334 » Sat Jun 12, 2021 5:10 pm

X-Power grey, 69000 miles, good overall original condition.

I've had the car over 5 years and have thoroughly enjoyed using it but the time has come to move on to something else, hopefully in the MG family.

The cambelt and water pump were changed last year, recent oil, plugs and filter change. I have changed the oil and filter every year during my ownership as well as cleaning and waxoyling the sub frame. I have done some work including new front sub frame mounts, control arm, rear hub assembly and front discs and pads.

The car is MOT'd until June 2022. There are advisories on a track rod end and a minor oil leak. I can't find an oil leak and the car uses no oil (never needed to top up oil or water in 5 years) or leaves any drips. I can only assume it was over spill oil from the recent change. Track rod end will probably need doing before next MOT.

Previously, the car has had stainless steel underfloor pipes, upgraded alternator bracket and a Pioneer Bluetooth stereo fitted.

Comes with a hard top in a darker grey with a cover.

Only negatives are a small crack on front bumper, some holes in the hood in usual places (if I was keeping the car I would invest in a new hood) and some small rust bubbles on front wing and rear air intake (these were there when I bought it and have not increased in 5 years).

Looking around the £1500 mark but would be open to serious offers.

I am in no great rush to sell but really need something with more seating capacity!

That looks lovely...

Any idea on how expensive exporting and shopping to NL would cost? ;)

Edit: did someone nick your ABS module?
Cheers!

If you are used to opening the bonnet on one with ABS it is a bit strange to open the bonnet on one without ABS.

Well, on the photo it looks like something was there on that spot, and I wasn't aware the TF did not come standard with ABS. Both my old F and current TF have ABS.

ABS was an optional extra in the UK on the 115 and 135 until mid 03 (or possibly mid 04) when it became mandatory.

Thanks Chris

Mine is a 2002 model, but it has the Sports pack 2, which comes with the big brake kit and ABS as standard, so I'm told.

Also have the Chrome Pack it seems, which is a bit overstated for a few chrome bits IMHO...

Anyway, is there a list of all these option packs and so on and what they hold?
Cheers!

SP1 10mm lower suspension
SP2 Above with the 160 brake system
SP3 Above with the so-called ultra-light (and expensive) wheels

Wait, so having the big brake kit and ABS means I get the lowered suspension too?

I have the standard 11 spokes I think, what do the ultralight wheels look like?
Cheers!
