AP 4 pot calipers from 2004. MGTF ***SOLD***

Post by mgb281 » Mon Jun 27, 2022 7:36 pm

For sale
A pair of AP 4 pot calipers from a 2004 MGTF. I bought the TF with a bad engine so I have not driven vey far but the brakes seemed to be okay. It passed the MOT in February 2021 with no comment about the brakes other than the rear discs being pitted. A previous owner had spray painted the calipers through the wheel spokes so they need a refurbishment, I am selling them because I have a brand new pair although I am also trying something totally different different as well. £75 collected or £85 posted.

They do look like they'll need a complete refurb with new hydraulic link pipes and most likely new seals etc - but the good news is that rebuild kits for this calipers are widely and cheaply available, and likely not too difficult to perform :)

Some nice on-line guides on how to recondition calipers online along with ideas on alternative colours! :D

Interesting Rob. Where’s the best place to get a refurb kit for my AP 2s please?
Thanks in advance

Hi Steve,

The AP part number for the equivalent MG caliper is CP7601-17SORD - so anyone selling reburbishment kits for the CP7600 series calipers will be able to help out (there are quite a few on the web).

AP website for part numbers: https://apracing.com/performance-upgrad ... x24mm-disc

Pistons seem to go for around £44, and seals for circa £34. Link pipes I haven't found on a quick search, but should not be too difficult to come by :)
