Hi
Thanks for having a look . I need a UK passenger side boot hinge -Tahitian blue. My old one went clunk and now snags the main body. I have not taken it off to see if I can mend it yet. Does anyone know if it's a false economy to not buy a brand new one?
Thank you

Second time I've heard about this in 12 months. Not sure what that means in terms of buying second hand? But finding a replacement in colour would certainly be more cost effective. I think I still have a grey one from a Mk1, but obviously, that's the wrong colour!!!

Should be able to find a Tahiti Blue hinge (far easier than a Typhoon one ~ had to get a hinge and spray it the correct colour) from someone like Martin Smith www.martinsmithmgspares.co.uk/

If it sags, it will be the hinge bush. I had to replace mine on the 85th. Mike Satur sells a hinge refurb kit. https://www.mikesatur.co.uk/-MGF-MGTF-S ... repair-kit

...with mine being the other! Also UK N/S (i.e. UK passenger side)Rob Bell wrote: ↑Mon Jul 18, 2022 3:27 pmSecond time I've heard about this in 12 months. With a spare kindly made available by Rob I swapped the whole hinge out. I could have got away with a near colour match as of course it only shows when open, and even then not too much metalwork to see. However my OCD took over therefore I did get a rattle can and respray before fitting. In hindsight a close enough colour was probably ok.
Easy enough to change out one side with a mate taking the lid weight. And one day I'll work out how to get it all aligned again properly!
good luck with yours OP.
