Sorry you have not had much interest in the car but the price will be putting most people off. The car looks in real good condition but you say its 'top price' but top price for that age of car is probably closer to half to two thirds of what you think it is worth. Check out Parkers or any car valuers and you will see even half of what you are asking is asking alot for a 98 car. No one, unless it really is a special car will pay £3000 for a 98 F when they could get a more modern TF for that price.

It is a pity the cars have such a low retail value now. If you had the car valued at a more realistic price your car should be sold real quickly. You will also get much more than scrappage value for it but if you are serious in wanting to sell it, you will have to be more realistic in what you offer it for. Saying that, I am surprised you have not had 'realistic' offers for it by now as it does look in very good condition.

Good luck in trying to sell it but if anything with the 'summer' starting to come to an end, the sale of soft top cars will decline so at an unrealistic price you will find it even harder to sell.

what about history etc ,, cam belts, pipes ,head gasket,

thats the thing with these cars,, if they aint looked after they will cost an arm and a leg in the future regardless of age. so its hard to put a price on a really well looked after car.. thats why this car is only for sale on this site and piston heads.

Yep - all done on mine.
I sold my old F - 98 plate - well sorted and loads of mods etc and all head, coolant pipes, belts - and only got £1600 for her - I think realistically if you really want to sell it, you'll be hard pushed to get £2000 for a 98 plate regardless of history etc. Thats if you really want/need to sell it with the end of the summer approaching. I'm probably not the only owner on here to say that. Surely if it was worth £3000 it would have sold by now?????

All the above will have an effect on the price but will only get you top book price. Non of the above will add to the value greatly but will help you sell it. Very unlikley you will get more than top book price even if it is good condition like yours. Your is on offer well above book price. I think as Jay has said and I tried to say earlier, if people thought it was good price for that age of car it would have sold easily by now as it is in good condition. It has not sold because in my opinion the price scares people off even coming to look at it as for that money most would go for a more modern TF. I hate to say it but our cars are worth more on the 'trade in scrappage scheme' than they are actually worth in a straight sale. To us they are priceless but sadly in the real world they are not.

Thats has been my point all along
we love these cars but when we come to sell them the prices are ridiculous,
is it true they sell for alot more on the continent? lol

I note that you've also got your car for sale on the BBS. As has been said above you are asking far too much for it. If you want to sell it I think you need to accept the fact that it's true value is probably around the £2000 mark. I also note that someone else is trying to sell a similar aged car on the BBS and he's also got his rose tinted glasses on.

noted dave.

nothing to do with rose tinted glasses .. these cars have suffered an amazing crash in values simple as! also the values for these cars are all over the place. just look at pistonheads.
