Hi Richard,

Who ported the head and built the engine?

Sorry that you are having to sell - what's the story? I am very interested, but sadly funds are currently all being absorbed by the house refurbishment

oh were do i start, well the story is a bought an f about two years ago from the local town it was minted, or so thought, it looked minted for the high millage it had 11900 miles on it but i got it for £1400 so i wasnt complaning. i got it home got it insured and went for i drive it felt awesome, my first rear wheel drive car, so i fell in love!!! (mistake) about a few weeks after having it i started to notice little problems, first im sure was the alternator packed in, so as you do i fixed it, then i started to get power steering problems, which at first when i replaced the speedo cable it fixed it but after a short period of time my power steering failed again, so after scratching my head for a few weeks i got an auto electrician to have a look, he found some sensor not working, so i replaced it, everything was great! so after a while i decided i want more power, one of my dads friends is a major major mg fan, who happens to work at the local machine shop. Tam Mkeanes from Dumfries, so knowing this i went to pay him a visit, just planning to play with my origanal stantard 1800(non vvc)engine. after talking to him for a while he talked me into buying a mint vvc engine from him and he would do all the work to my engine on the side at work for me. so after a few dicusions with him, we dicided on what we were going to do to the engine , so after handing over £1800 to him he started buying the parts i required for the build. so while he was building the engine i started to buy some extras e.g flywell throttle body an so on. once everything was fitted and the build was done in she went. the first night on the road was honestly one of the best driving experiances of my life so far, but that night on the way home about a mile from my house the power steering goes again.(raging) so in the morning i took the car to the ex local rover garage. they told me that the sppedo cable had gone again, buy this point i was to deep in to stop, so i told them to replace it again, i picked my car up after work, and the power sttering was fixed.(brilliant) i managed to drive about about three miles with power steering, then low an behold god shits on me again. by this time am angry so i decide to head home, so am just about home and i get to one of the roundabouts and decide to be a tit, so i light up the back wheels and have a wee drift, but just as i back off to exit, the car snaps back and i loose it, straight into the lampost i go.(tramendous) i cracked the bumper dent the wing and dent the bonnet. so after a week of trying to sort the power steering with no luck! and my lovely damaged front end i decided enough was enough and this is where i am now. (gutted) 1plus side after stripping the car to a shell is i got to take out my agrresion with my skillsaw i now a three part mgf in the garden.

Not a chance. The lack of lift on the VVC Inlet cams (9.5mm) means that even with extensive work to reduce valve shrouding the most you will ever see is 185bhp - despite claims to the contrary you can not change the laws of Physics!

Why would it not be for girls? With an attitude like that you have just alienated around 1/2 your target audience. Blinkered sexist attitudes like that should have died with the last Century and have no place on a Forum such as this.

You might become educated by the fact that we have women on this Forum who:

Are ARDS qualified Racing Instructors
Are Race License holders
Build their own race engines

Oh, and my TF runs around 270bhp on NOS and I don't have any problems driving it.

Oh my, Some people these days don't have a sence of humour, It was a joke just like the yorkie advert, suprised you didnt send them a message, i like girls thats why i have a girlfriend mate of 5 years! And actually she told me to write it, Cos the car was to fast for her, She's just a nimble wee thing, and scared of fast cars, Then secondly i said ROUGHLY 190bhp, it was never dynod so the best i could do was guess, Its sad how people like you spend there time giving others abuse!! if your not intrested why bother leaving petty comments atall. Now you seem to act and talk like you know everything about the vvc engine, So why the hell are you running Nos then smart arse!! that F@7?ks ALL engines no matter how good you think you're or who ever else built you'r engine for you!!!!
