KV6 on an MGF subframe up for grabs
Many may recall that Brian was in the process of building a KV6 MGF, and there was a fascinating build thread going around a year ago (click here to read more). Unfortunately life got in the way, and his lovely Nightfire red MGF was sold on.
But he still has the KV6 on the subframe he was modifying. This is now up for sale.
I was going to buy it off him, as I have always wanted a 6-cylinder MGF having experienced Porsche Boxsters (the KV6 is a wonderfully sonorous and smooth engine, and suits the F and TF well), but sadly I've pulled out due to lack of funds and time to actually undertake a conversion (also I'd need a donor car, as Project Shed and N7 - my road car - are both going to stay 4-cylinder).
I am keen that it finds a good home though - I have no other interest in it other than I actually still want it (argh! If only I had more space/money/time) - so if anyone does want to go down the KV6 route, then drop either him or myself a line Otherwise, I suspect it'll land up on the Bay of E soon!
(Hmm, lottery numbers, where are you?)

Re: KV6 on an MGF subframe up for grabs
First £200 to grace my palm will get all of this, I need the space.
This will get you:
KV6 Engine
ZS180 Gearbox with Type B TorSen
(both of which are mounted in the frame)
MGF subframe with a good chunk of work completed - just work to clear the rear exhaust manifold to be done
All Engine electrics, wiring and ECUs (paired engine management ECU and 5AS with Fob)
Spare MGF fuel tank to use as template for modifications
Spare MGF rear subframe
New 825 KV6 oil pump - this has horizontal oil filter which will clear more easily
New Water pump
Numerous other odds and sods..
I want it out of the garage now, so come armed with a couple of hundred quid and a van and the stuff is yours!

Hi Brian, do you still have items? And where do you live?
Many Thanks, Andy.
Many Thanks, Andy.
Re: KV6 on an MGF subframe up for grabs
Loooooooong time away from this thread, but all of this is still available as it's lain covered up in the garage doing nothing for 3 years..
If anyone is interested, the price above still stands - even if you break the engine and sell the bits, you stand to make more. PM or email me if interested.
For info, the parts are all located in Kingsbury, NW London.

Re: KV6 on an MGF subframe up for grabs
Crumbs Brian - I thought that it had all been sold ages ago! How's the Alfa?
Regarding the parts above, I've seen the work to date, and it's all very good. And I happen to know where the spare fuel tank and subframe came from
If Brian hasn't changed his mobile number in the last couple of years then I have it, and can pass it on with his permission. I'd love these bits too - but to be honest I'd need another car to put it in, and a LOT more spare time!!!

Re: KV6 on an MGF subframe up for grabs
I have a garage - but it's already full of MGF bits!!! And I have at least 2 major car projects, two major engine projects, plans to compete in the MGCC sprint championship... and... and...
Re: KV6 on an MGF subframe up for grabs
Alfa's good, although I no longer own it - a friend of mine bought it nearly 18 months ago when I bought a new Fiat 500 TwinAir (which is great).Rob Bell wrote:Crumbs Brian - I thought that it had all been sold ages ago! How's the Alfa?

I'd love to have seen this project through, but space is my major problem. Maybe one day when/if I have a garage, it'll happen..

I will continue with developing this project, its not going to be sold off for parts, Brian has put a huge amount of thought and effort into this and it deserves completion
