Dave (very politely) I have told you before, the info you have is not correct, there are some lists claiming to be correct please don't be fooled, there are seven. You have not taken into account the Old English White which Nick has even shown us a picture of and the unknown Nightfire Red 3.

There is no problem with the Spice TF I have looked in to it now I have a little time (I have been logging 80LE data for nearly a week now) the real one is a 135, the one at MG90 is a 160 in Anthracite with a black/tan alcantara interior so it is a re-spray and beautiful it is. I was fooled as the vin plate paint code shows it as Spice.

I was talking to the chap who had the spice at MG90, last night it is in deed a respray (a very good one), It has a new vin plate from vin tags with the new paint code.

That would be a dream if we could get them all to MGF20.

We could have a seperate Monogram parking section though.

Andy, that's exactly what threw me when I saw the beauty of the Spice TF. I didn't recognise the colour so I made a note of the vin plate on my phone and the data proved correct so I knew it was a re-spray, what a good job and an inspired choice.

Can someone tell the guy with the light blue mirage monogram that his is not a one off please!!

Every time I see it he's telling people its one of one.. er no.. one of 16 pal.. (16 still registered on road)

There were 3 mirages at live this year!!!

Think i'll print this page off and nail it to his head!!

http://www.mg-rover.info/mg_tf.htm?

Look at Mirage.. 19.. more of mirage 2.. and yet he still insists one of one?!? WTF

So is the Spice car a re-spray of Spice.. or a normal TF sprayed Spice after?

I thought that too about the blue mirage car...especially seeing as one of my Dad's neighbours down his road has one tucked in his garage looking rather sorry for itself... ;)

Please lets move on from discussing this members car in such a negative manner.
Of the 19 cars made in Mirage, 1 was a 115, 1 was a 120, 13 were 135 and 4 were 160s so there is a reason why the owner can say it was a one off if it is a 115 or 120.

Sorry Keith...

Just winds me up when people resort to lying to try to make their cars something its not..

The owner insists all other Mirages are Mirage 2... even though one of the others at Live was Mirage 1..

Anyways..

Yes it would be quite something to see the 7 at MGF20 :thumbsu:

Goes back to my point about some judges having no idea.. An owner tells them its one of one and the judges believe them?

Like the guy who was trying to convince me he had 188 bhp at the fly wheel.. only to see an MPi lump in his engine bay.. and a 48mm throttle body..

Asked him how he had achieved 188 bhp... induction kit and back box..

Anyone who knows anything about these engines knows you don't get 188 bhp from an MPi without doing a lot more than filter and back box.. if you could Dave Andrews/Hellier/Scholar and Sabre would be out of business..

Don't talk it up.. tell it as it is.. :thumbsu:

I "think" I have the only Aurora if anyone wants to confirm or disprove. Bought it Silverstone weekend from a lady near Rochdale who has retired from driving. I will add a pic when I get home from work if you like? Its an 05 plate 160 with less than 27k on the clock.

Hi Stu, please send me via pm or e mail your paint code from the under bonnet plate or numbers from the vin. I have the details for the car so I can confirm this with you.

A picture will be nice too, I doubt many know Aurora.

If so it needs to be at Gaydon next year for MGF20 :thumbsu:

I checked the paint code when I bought it, IAX I think it is but will confirm when I get home. Ive seen what looks like an Aurora on a French site but thats on a 54 plate & someone else says they've seen another so thats what makes me wonder. I have seen the MG ROVER build site that says there is only one though.

Keith unfortunately you are mistaken regarding the mirage numbers
After lengthy conversations and researching via the f reg
There are 4 mirage 3 coat 160's which his is not
Mirage 3 paint code IAS was only used for 1 year from late 2002 to 2003
The mirage being discussed is a mirage 2 paint IAU
Of which there were 16 made the latter colour was used from 53 plate up until
2005/6
So mine being 1 of identical and the 04 plate at mg90
Are the same
Therefore the IAS 160 is far more rare

I really don't know where some of these figures come from and I'm not taking sides on who has the rarest car but to clarify the situation here goes :

TF115 : Mirage (1)

TF120 : Mirage (1) Mirage 2 (1)

TF135 : Mirage (13) Mirage 2 (22)

TF160 : Mirage (4) Mirage 2 (16)

Total cars (58) Mirage (19) Mirage 2 (39)
Bilstein shocks, Piper 4-2-1 manifold, Daytona, Vader cold-air induction, custom Z and F Stage 2 re-map, Electric boot release, braided hoses, Blue Magnecor leads, Technozen relays, Stage 1 head, BMW Angel Eyes headlights, "MG" puddle lights.

With all these mirages around, you'd think there'd be one oasis? ;)
