Re: MGLive! 2017 - Confirmed dates - 17th & 18th June
Lucky visitors to MGLive! on Saturday 17th June at Silverstone Circuit will be treated to a one-off MG BTCC Q&A session with three of the team’s most popular drivers from previous seasons.
Sam Tordoff, Jack Goff and recently returned driver Josh Cook will be on hand for a signing session, pictures and a Q&A. The trio will also be auctioning off unique BTCC merchandise, some of which hasn’t previously been available to the public, in aid of the MG Car Club’s named charity Headway Oxfordshire.
Also at MGLive! will be the MG XS – MG’s new compact SUV. Visitors across the weekend will get to see the XS for the first time since it was revealed at the London Motor Show last month.

Due to incredible demand, the MG Car Club has decided to extend advance ticket sales for MGLive! at Silverstone Circuit until Monday 12th June at 5:00 pm.
MGLive! on June 17th & 18th will encompass everything that’s great about one of the world’s most famous automotive marques with a full weekend of motorsport, stunt displays, the Wheeler Dealers, the Smartdriverclub Live Arena, over 3000 MGs on display, live music and much more.

Re: MGLive! 2017 - Confirmed dates - 17th & 18th June
As Colin said, the race schedule is not out as yet but it should be out any day now. I do have a draft schedule for the Arena and Village Green stage area but not sure that I can release it yet in case it has changed since I had a copy given me.
Some basics for the weekend.
Friday, access to Silverstone will be from 3pm for campers.
For those arriving Friday afternoon/evening, the Pit Stop cafe will be open WITH food this year until 9pm. Live music will be on offer again until 11pm.
Saturday & Sunday, Silverstone gates open at 09:00
Main club marquee. Open Saturday 09:00-18:00. Sunday 08:00-16:00
The lay out of MGLive! this year will be different than in previous years. One of the biggest changes is to create space to bring the California Cup & Auto Solo within the infield as part of the main event instead of holding it ion the outside car park.
The main club marquee has been moved closer to the racing so it will be much closer to the track and with a grandstand behind it. The arena is close by and will be live most of the day with events for visitors to take part in. The theme of this years event is to bring the Live out of MGLive! Look out for the live displays from some of the traders.
The MGF/TF Register parking will be on the grass again just as you turn at the island after you cross the second bridge. We are expecting parking to be tight again this year so please take advice from our parking marshals who will try to get as many cars into the area that we can. We don't want anyone to be sent to the over flow register car park if we can help it.
The MGF Register stand will be in a similar position in the club marquee to last year so please come and meet the committee manning the stand. We will be there all weekend.
There is no entertainment tent this year so keep your fingers crossed for good weather. Like many other motoring events, this year the entertainment will be based around an out door stage with better quality food on offer for the evening entertainment. This will be available until 11pm with a bus bar selling the beer. There will be plenty of picnic tables with limited shelter but a camping seat may be an advantage for the night.
There is live music on both days from 11am until 5pm. Four different live acts will be playing throughout both days with TGI Live taking to the stage for 'After Hours' on the Saturday night. The Glo car competition will be slotted in between sets so please join us for that or for the full night.
Race wise/Motor sport: Some very full grids to watch and hear.
Saturday only - invited guests are the Porsche club
Sunday only - invited guests are the Masters Pre-1966 Touring Cars
Sunday only - Midget & Sprite Challenge
Other invited guests - Radicals are there for both days - I think!
Hopefully the race schedule will be out in the next day or so at the link Colin gave above.
California Cup - Saturday Morning
Auto Solo - Sunday Morning
Sprint - Sunday
It is all set up for a great weekend and if the weather forecast in correct, this time next week, summer is coming .... or am I just dreaming that I saw and heard that earlier tonight.

We will be holding a raffle on the MGF Register stand each day at MGLive! in aid of our 2017 charity, Prostate Cancer UK
You could set yourself up nicely for the Saturday night After Hours party if you win as the first prize is a keg of Old Speckled Hen
The draw will be made at 3pm on each day. All monies raised via the raffle will go directly to Prostate Cancer UK.

Re: MGLive! 2017 - 17th & 18th June
A big thank you has to go to the Register team that did a great job looking after the Register parking area, club stand in the main marquee and the After Hours party along with the Glo car competition.
The sun & heat was nice over the weekend, but made it for those working a rather hard weekend. Plenty of fluids were needed and not all of them were alcoholic ..... honestly.
Thank you to Ron & Joan Kemp, Neil Mattock, Nigel & Jo May, Jane & Rob Parry & Ian & Angie Wright.
Thank you to all that braved coming into the main club marquee to see us. It was more like a sauna than a club display at times. So glad the last thing I packed into the car to take down was a fan.
The new layout of the event seemed to work well. Bringing the California Cup & Auto Solo into the infield has been needed for a while. Putting the main club marquee closer to the track and linking it closer to the racing worked in my mind. Also having the main arena in between the club marquee and the California Cup area made it easier people to get around. Having music playing through most of both days, linked in well with the evening entertainment and made it more of a festival than just a car event. I will be interested though to hear other peoples opinions but from the feed back we had over the weekend seemed to be really positive for the first changes to the MGLive! event. More still to come over the next few years.
