Wood trim?
Hello.
Does anyone know where I can get the passenger side air bag cover panel in wood?
Cheers.

Re: Wood trim?
I'd like a nice one in red if they are available too. Unless anyone's had experience of spraying them?
Re: Wood trim?
I have never heard of a Cover in Wood. We have the full OEM Wood Kit and the Original sales brochures. At the same time, I have never seen an aftermarket kit.

Re: Wood trim?
Mike Satur had them made back in the day. I don't believe that they are readily available now though.
Painting it should be straightforward enough - it's just moulded ABS plastic. Should be possible to get good results with some elbow grease, sand paper and suitable primer.
For wood, might be possible to find some self adhesive stuff on the bay of fleas? No idea how good a match that'd be with what trim you currently have. An alternative would be to have the panel covered in a transfer. Needs a nice flat surface though...

Does it come off easily enough or would it be better to do it in situ?Rob Bell wrote:

Re: Wood trim?
Assuming you're using rattle-cans, I think it would be extremely optimistic to hope to contain the overspray if you paint it inside the car. However hard it is to remove the bit you want painted, it'll be a lot less work than cleaning paint off _everything_.hammond wrote:Does it come off easily enough or would it be better to do it in situ?Rob Bell wrote:

The trim comes out easily - and would be much better to paint outside the car. In fact, might be worth getting a spare off the bay of fleas (or elsewhere) and prep/paint at your leisure!

Hello everyone, and thank you for your replies especial thanks to Beefio this is exactly what I wanted though without the chip and scratches.
I am fairly confident that after further research I may have found a new source of supply.
