MGCC Race Meeting: Oulton park - 1st September
The next race will be at Oulton Park
Races will include
The Knight Industries MGCC MG Trophy Championship (DH)
MGCC Peter Best Insurance MG Cup (DH)
MGCC TN Racing BCV8 Championship (DH)
MGCC Drayton Manor Park MG Metro Cup
MGCC Cockshoot Cup
British Motor Heritage North West 100
MGF/TF Race
We again get to see the F/TFs out on track this year at Oulton Park. David Coulthard quotes on Facebook that "The MG Car Club are very keen to build on the momentum gained as a result of the 20th Anniversary race. If we can capitalise on the success of Silverstone, then we may get a non-point scoring series for 2019 and possibly a full blown championship in 2020". This will be great for the MGF Register members to have a race to support again and would be an ideal thing to have in place for the 25th Anniversary year o f the MGF in 2020.
Tea and coffee will be provided in the MGCC hospitality area which is usually in one of the garages close to race control.
If time allows, parade laps around the circuit will be held at the lunch break for MG Car Club members. Sign on will happen in the MGCC hospitality area, so don't forget your MGCC membership card.

The race timetable is attached .....
The MGF/TF race is not until late afternoon. A small but select number of cars will be out on track ..... hopefully more will brave the track in next years race season.

The trophy boys have a very full grid so it will be interesting to see if they get around that tight track OK. It should make good spectacular racing seeing 30 ZEDS leaving the start line.c13amb wrote:

Re: MGCC Race Meeting: Oulton park - 1st September
Sadly the MGF/TF race was withdrawn this morning as with only 5 confirmed entrants, the drivers themselves withdrew from the race. It really was not worth putting just five cars out on track for a race.
The F/TFs will now revert back to their normal championship races so we will still see them out on track but just racing each other.
Most of the other grids have a good number of cars except the North West 100 which is only showing a grid of 10 at present.

Sad, but understandable.Keith Williams wrote:Sadly the MGF/TF race was withdrawn this morning as with only 5 confirmed entrants, the drivers themselves withdrew from the race. It really was not worth putting just five cars out on track for a race.

There was not much notice given for the race since MGLive! to get all the cars out again.colintf wrote:

There is also an issue of taking cars from existing championships, so reducing numbers in them to create a set of MGF/TF races. I still hope it will get many more cars out of storage and racing next year which will add to the numbers not just spread out the cars we already have racing with the MGCC. Time will see and with a backing from the MGCC and race committee, we may yet get to see F/TFs back out on track in larger numbers.
