Just to say hello. I am a long time member of the MGCC - 53 years, previously with a 1958 MGA (my first car in 1968), autotesting, hill climb and sprint Midgets and currently with a 1960 MGA coupe and now a 2009 TF 85th Anniversary model in Ice White. I see there is no MGF Register region listed for Northern Ireland, although there is an MGCC Ulster Centre and I am currently the Chair for my sins!
Hoping to gain some knowledge and advice from forum members as I have some enquiries as I sit in the car with the car and radio handbook in hand. The car one is fairly straightforward, except the instructions for the alarm which seem to read the same for all functions, but the radio is not easy!

Hi Nigelnigelandjo wrote: ↑Sat Aug 21, 2021 9:15 pmWhich make /model of radio do you have? What issues are you having?
Radio OK now I have sat in the car with the manual for a couple of hours! Main issue was me! The radio is a standard? Clarion CZ209ER and like most electronic/IT gadgets nowadays (I know 2009), has far too many options.
My biggest problem is the lack of a second alarm fob. I got a spare key cut to carry in case I lock the one with the alarm fob in the boot Trying to get the second set from the dealer and/or previous owner, but I understand a new one with the appropriate code can be programmed for the car - both main MG dealers here in NI only deal in modern MGs and do not have the programmer. I am reluctant to let a "specialist" do it without recommendation as I have read horror stories of the SCU being corrupted. The fob is the three button Pektron. Not much recent on the forum.
Likewise the reversing sensors, which beep like a reversing truck as soon as reverse is selected. but do not change sound otherwise!
Any advice re a "workshop manual" covering the 85th Anniversary model? Is Robert Parker's Restoration Manual any good?
Will post any other questions on the appropriate forum rather than the Welcome page.
Thanks to you and James for your responses.

Re: New to MGF Register
Hi,
There unfortunately isn't a workshop manual for the 85th. A standard TF workshop manual will give you 99% of the info you require. If there any local members with a T4 or a Pscan, they will be able to programme a fob for you. I have a Pscan, but am not in NI, but if you're ever over in the UK with the car would happily do it for you.
