Next Sunday Pub Run October 7th
As most of you know Dawn and I will organise the next Sunday Pub Run, we've planned it for October 7th as we hope everybody will be available that day.
The whole drive is optional, if you just want to drive to the Pub for dinner that's fine we will provide details of the finish point soon, at the moment it's likely it will be in Great Leighs.
We are working on a plan that will combine some local WW1 history with nice driving roads, in fact they are based on my work routes that I take during the week. There is likely to be a small charge of £4 that goes towards the restoration of the site that we plan on visiting, we hope this is acceptable (it's optional of course). To give us an idea of numbers ( I need to inform the pub and the visit) who's interested ?
The start is likely to be in the Rettendon area, gather at 09.30 (tea/coffee and breakfast is available). Toilets and lunch are included in the route book if required.

Like the sound of this - and with Adrian organising it will be an interesting run
Unfortunately it is the weekend before we fly out to China so will have to give it a miss as no doubt I will be called upon to pack and unpack suitcases several times (although with a 92 kilo luggage allowance + 2 hand luggage bags each, I think even Trish can get the weight right!!)

Dawn and I have been out checking and improving the route today, breakfast, tea and coffee is available at the start (the BHN Garden Centre, East Hanningfield Road, CM38EW meet at 09.30 for a 10.15 start). The first drive will be around 26 miles taking around one one hour before the historical stop. We will receive an escorted tour of the site with tea/coffee and toilets available before the second drive of 45 miles, this will be around 90 minutes finishing at the Green Dragon, Upper London Road, Youngs End, Black Notley CM778QN for dinner.
We have tables booked for 14.30/15.00 and I have the menu which I will bring to the Dick Turpin next Thursday as pre-ordering will make things easier.
The historical site is a work in progress and we hope you will enjoy it. As I have said there is a charge to visit of £4 pp. If this is not acceptable and you wish to drive direct to the pub, please let me know as I still need to tell them the number of people and tables required.
If you will not be at the Dick Turpin please call or e mail me and I'll go through the menu with you.

I can also confirm now the location of the hisorical visit, I really like it I hope you do. It's the old Royal Flying Corps airfield at Stowe Maries. The owner, Russell Savory will provide a tour of the facility where he is attempting to rebuild the entire airfield, he has so far managed to complete five building out of the 22. Yesterday there was a number of Tiger Moths and a Sopwith Camel there, they often fly in for a chat and breakfast.
I have a little non-competetive challenge for you too, the winner will take home a very large jar of sweet and a certificate.

Re: Next Sunday Pub Run October 7th
A big thank you to Adrian and Dawn for organising this run. We weren't able to do any of the run but were able to meet up for the breakfast and also at the Aerodrome - which we got to see a helicopter land. We had a great day out and thanks for all the time and effort put in to organising it. It is much appreciated and I am so glad the Essex Roadsters are doing things.
