For 2010 the register decided to hold four events in one weekend ...and
why not ? It made a great curtain raiser for the 2010 season by
combining the AGM, Gala Dinner, Stoneleigh International and a scenic
run.
The weekend began with snow on the ground for one of the chilliest runs
we've ever organised. The route began at the Melbicks Garden Centre and
took the cars through some snowy scenic lanes and finished at the
Midlands Air Museum on the edge of Coventry airport where the F/TFs got
to park amongst the planes on display.
This was followed by the presentation of our Annual General Meeting held
at the Allesley Hotel in Allesley village just outside of Coventry.
Various reports were made and the Chairman gave a PowerPoint
presentation covering the preceding 12 months and looking to the future.
Following a short break the evening continued with a gala dinner which
was also held at the Allesley.
The next day saw more snow on the ground and some of the cars had
difficulty leaving the car park of the Allesely Hotel which is on quite
a steep slope. Having negotiated that the rest of the day was spent at
the MG International show at Stoneleigh where the Register displayed two
cars on the stand - John Fry's 1995 works Rally MGF and Colin Grant's
85th Anniversary TF. |
