SEF and SCRR MGFs and MGTFs go to IBM.

With the initial introduction over down to the business at hand. Two groups for F/TFs met up on a brisk but sunny sunday morning for runs in to the Winchester MGOC's Cobweb Spin traditionally held at IBM's Hursley Park near Winchester. The South East Fers met up at Wisley services where Tim fortuitously parked in front of a variation on the Little Chef sign - the "Little Ef" and Adrian entertained us with his novel method of coaxing  "Not So Good as Gold"  in to life !.

Meanwhile in Wiltshire the South Coast Road Runners Group were trying to find - or rather South Coast Commander Kris Ford was trying to find the rest of the group despite choosing the start point himself !. Finally reunited they headed off for Winchester arriving shortly after the SEFers who took a short stop at the front of the IBM Mansion for photos - nice office !

I think the Winchester MGOC were a little taken aback when 27 MGF/TFs suddenly roared into the Social Club car park but were very welcoming and found us our own space below the mound.

Also welcoming was the 806th Mayor of Winchester, Neil Baxter, who was impressed with the F turnout as was MGOC Region 10 secretary Nigel Hedges.

Jay brought Cassie along from Bridgewater now sporting even more pink decals and Ralph proved that Steve White doesn't have the monopoly on the Bittersweet paint job - now exactly what colour is it Ralph ?

Elsewhere at IBM could be found some more varieties of classic cars than on previous occasions when the event was opened up as an "all" classics meeting. Thus we had a group of 2CVs from Portsmouth, a mini cooper group, Triumph Herald, Bentley, Panhard, Standard, Lotus and various other varieties including a London bus to add to the collection of MGs on display.

An extended wait for lunch over a pint of beer whilst the raffle was drawn and a chat on the slightly chilly terrace amongst the Effers followed before we noticed that everyone had gone home ! Packing the flags and banners away a small group of us Effers were the last to leave.

Another successful Cobweb Spin on a fine day which allowed every F , without a hardtop, to enjoy the first rays of spring with hoods down.
