What's an Autumn Trail - well it changes each year but this year it was
based on a theme of "Lost Photographs" and was pitched somewhere
between a Treasure Hunt and a Naviscat.
Tim had taken some photographs during the summer but lost the locations -
the task was to help him find those locations armed with a a map, some
co-ordinates and some cryptic clues.
Find the locations on the map - navigate your way there - identify the
location - identify a bonus photo and answer another cryptic clue - easy
!!
If only some of the answers hadn't been moved ! Doh !.
If you go down to the woods today .....you'll
find seven MGF/TFs hidden in a forest car park. Well here we are glinting
in the sunlight at the Ockham Car Park.
Sally & Johns F lead the field.
Time for a natter before the serious business
begins.
Nervous tension is increasing
We're off - time to delve in to that question
sheet - Here is Kevin getting stuck into the plotting with rest of the
field sitting in their cars behind him.
Emma and dad looking perplexed before they
realised one of the clues is actually at Ockham Car park !!
Cars primed and ready to go.
Emma speeds off - never to be seen again -
Come in Emma your time is up - she is heading for the biggest minus score
in the history of Autumn Trails - makes Don & Liza being 65 minutes
late at the finish look like small fry !! Where's your answer sheet ?
Some cars arrived at the finish point of The
Anchor at Pyrford Lock on time - some were late and one never seen
again !!
We did manage to work out a winner in the end
- Well done to Kevin and to Tony & Lynne who were runners up by just
one point - five minutes earlier back at The Anchor and they'd have won !
Just a sample of the clues - This is the
photo of the Ockham Bites Cafe - Everyone was facing it and it still took
twenty minutes to realise !
The bonus was a little more difficult - the
question was What Can't you do in general public ? - The answer -
"Galloping or jumping" found on that notice board - but first
you had to find the board which proved not to be as easy as you'd think.!
