ROVER JAPAN

On the 9th September 1995 The Rover Japan competition MGF was ready for it's standard run assessment.

During August 1995 the MGF was officially launched to the motoring press with a special event held at Coombe Abbey. It was held at this location to emphasise the "Britishness" of the car and journalists were treated to games of snooker and billiards surrounded by paintings of MGs. Lunch that day was held at the BMIHT museum at Gaydon.

Following this launch journalists were allowed to test drive some of the cars on long term basis as the basis for their own magazine reviews of the new British MG Sportscar.

On 20th September Autocar published the first road test and major review of the MGF.

During September 1995 the first production cars began to find their way to the dealers and appear on the roads of the UK. The MGF was finally born and now we celebrate it's tenth birthday in 2005.
