A combination of events saw us gather in the mist on top of Reigate
Hill in the Wray Lane car park on a very wet Saturday evening at the height
of the English summer. It was our 4th Anniversary celebration - hard
to believe that we're now entering our fifth year as SEFers - and also the
second Indian Safari expedtion. Our first took us to the Gate of India at
Old Basing a couple of years ago and we again entered the wild woods of
darkest Surrey. This time we were on a hunt for the Red Chilli - it actually
wasn't that hard to find as someone had already scouted the area and
thoughtfully left behind a couple of pages of tulip diagrams to follow which
led us straight to the door of the legendary Red Chilli.
Once inside we soon warmed up from the ever increasing monsoon with
lashings of hot curry and even a Cobra could be seen rearing its head
occasionally ! Hearty toasts were announced to the well being of the SEFers
as we head into our fifth anniversary year. It was interesting to
contemplate on all those SEFers over the years - some still with us
and some that have moved on. Being a car club we have an ever rotating cast
as people buy their Fs or sell them on having had one HGF too many . A toast
to you all !
