Nine Fs met up at the Runnymede Pleasure Grounds for the South East run in to the MGF Register Xmas Natter. We welcomed a couple of new faces in Paul with his nice wedgewood blue SE and Kris & Vicki - future South Coast reps - in their Trophy 160 with experimental air scoop for the side pods - and a lot of road dirt ! The Essex contingent had already met up at Clacketts before travelling around the M25.

Having had a cup of tea and a bit of breakfast in some cases we finally set off along side the Thames heading first for Windsor where we passed the Castle and the race course before meeting the Thames again at Henley. It was not long before we met Neil on the Fairmile where he tried to sneak a couple of photos of  Fs on the move before tagging on the back of the line. We passed a couple of MG landmarks on the way - Nuffield House the home of William Morris and Kimber House - home of the MGCC in Abingdon itself. Emerging the other side of the town we parked up at the Dog House Hotel and unfurled the register flag.

There were already a good number of Fs in the car park but very few TFs oddly. Around 70 people in all turned out for the annual Xmas Natter and prize giving. The Natter would not be complete without the annual groan inducing Xmas Quiz and this year was no exception with some fiendish clues to tax us. Barry & Sue with Pauls SMith and others on their table took it far too seriously and only lost three points making them the easy winners ! After we'd all enjoyed our carvery lunch and were totally befuddled by the quiz it was time for the awards.

The club only has two main awards and this year they were won by no less than three SEFers !. (That's because we had some special ones !)

Tim Morris (blushing - sorry) won the Priests of Chesham Trophy for outstanding contribution to the MGF Register over 2005 and in particular for MGF 10.

Dave Morris (No relation - honest) won the Tanswell Trophy for member of the Year

Adrian Clifford and Andy Phillips were both given special awards for their own  outstanding contributions to MGF 10. Andy brought his chicken up to receive his award - why ? you may ask - well why not we say !

A special word for Daphne Witzel who had flown over from Holland to join us for this Christmas get together - if we'd had a furthest travelled trophy then she would have won it  - well done Daphne.

All too soon it was time to programme home in to the Tom Tom and set off back down the M40 .

Many thanks to Richard and Gill Martin who organized the whole thing and we'll see you all next year.
