THE PEOPLE

The MGF Register organisers spend months in planning the event but if you don't turn up then all that effort will have been fruitless.

Thankfully you did turn up in numbers on a glorious weekend with around 700 cars over the two days. It was fantastic to see not only MGF/TFs but a good number of Zed cars and older MGS as well. In fact this year we deliberately emphasised that MGFest is not just for MGF/TF enthusiasts by giving pride of place in the Avenue to our ancestors and the most powerful production MGs the ZT 260's. We must remember that without those early MGs we wouldn't have the F/TFs that we love now.

This page features some candid shots of just a few of the 1000+ people who attended the show.

WHAT THEY SAID ABOUT MGFEST08 !

"Thought that I'd drop you a line to say how much I enjoyed the MGFest08 bash.  The venue was perfect, as was the weather.  You must have pulled out all of the stops to get that organised. The whole MGFest weekend is a credit to the MG Register and the many volunteers that pitched in to make it an absolute joy to attend.  I can't thank you all enough. " Steve Groody via e-mail

"MGFest war fantastisch" Claude mgf-portal.de

"Attended our second F fest on Sunday and wot a day it was brilliant weather fantastic cars and nice location. Well done to all volunteers and everybody involved" Paul 1957 X Power forum

"only went the Saturday, but thoroughly enjoyed it. Top marks to all involved in the organisation" Pete Vickerstaff

"Had a great weekend. Nice to see so many F's and quite sad to see it no longer British owned. Above all, it gave me ideas on how to customise my F. Thought the Sunday had more atmosphere for some reason" Derben F Reg forum

"I went today, Sunday and thought it was an excellent event, great cars and fantastic weather" Matto180 X power forum

"I would like to say a very big thank you to the guys who organised the event, had a really good weekend, weather was unreal and this is my fault because I booked the week off of work. It was nice to meet up with the legendary Scarlet Fever, the owner was a nice guy too. Star of the show was Maxine 'The girl never stops smiling & having fun from what I saw' If people didn't enjoy themselves then it was there own fault !"   Apollo F Reg Forum

"Had a great day and couldn't believe it when I got the Pride Of Ownership trophy, I had a fantastic day and fully intend to be back next year. Also joined the MGCC". Dean Hems

"We attended the Fest on Sunday and had a really good day meeting up with old friends and making new. Would like to say a big thank you to and your committee for the splendid organisation of this event. Don't know how you arranged for such perfect weather it certainly worked". Gerald & Barbara Pratley via e-mail

"I've never been before, so was pleasantly surprised to be ushered down to the main building and then presented with a parking space along with many other MGs. What surprised me most was that there was only one other Mk2 ZS there!!!!. Made mine look good , even though I had not prepped mine-only given it a wash."  Kev180 X Power forum

Just a note to offer our thanks to you and your team for a superb enjoyable weekend at Gaydon, I appreciate that much has to be done both before and after the event, something that can be overlooked by by the visitors so thanks again ( hope the legs are not too sore this morning ).There was something ongoing to occupy us throughout both days as well as the chance to catch up with fellow MG owners, being a bit old we gave the musical evening a miss, no problem with the type of music but we had just about run out of energy ! - Chirstine & Art Jacks via e-mail

"Just got back from my first Fest. Had a fantastic weekend and met some great people. Highlight for me had to be the Saturday Run - did the Southern one. Great route with some stunning scenery. Had a six car convoy going pretty much all the way. I believe it got up to 12 at one point. Couldn't see that far back as I was near the front. Really enjoyed it - the organisers played a blinder." Sparky135 MG-Rover.org

"just got back, I thought it was a brilliant weekend, road run on the saturday was awesome (last years run was good too) but that's the best part of the fest." mgfdOOd mg-rover.org

"I'm burnt to a crisp but had a good weekend. So shattered from all those 'shapes' i was throwing lastnight. (thats dancing to those who arn't sure) lol." Maxine Fransden

"It was quite busy but really hot and sunny. Loads of F's etc and some stunning MG Metro Turbo's and SV's there. One of the Metro Turbo's (a red and black one on an A plate) was so clean it looked like it had been pushed out of the museum - not driven up by it's owner as the info sign stated." Rapid Yellow X Power forum

"Had a great time at MGFest08, well done to you and all those involved" Pete Strothard by letter
