MG TF for sale
X-Power grey, 69000 miles, good overall original condition. I've had the car over 5 years and have thoroughly enjoyed using it but the time has come to move on to something else, hopefully in the MG family. IMG_20210605_121852.jpg The cambelt and water pump were changed last year, recent oil, plugs ...

Re: Am I Mad
Sounds good with the added bonus of being a VVC! These cars are definitely worth saving but check subfames and for any rust in the cills and arches. The clutch may be a simple fix but the arm could be seized which could take some work to free up or may need a new one. The cambelts will probably also...

Re: Help!!!! Can’t get my MGF soft top down.
Had this trouble on my F, you may need to move the middle bar back slightly to allow the hood to fully retract.
Have a look on you tube, seem to remember there was a video on this.
My TF has straps inside the hood to stop it jamming.
Hope this helps.

Re: Squeaky rear!
It was quite surprising that there was a complete lack of abnormal movement in the wheel, it was only when the hub was off that it became obvious!

Squeaky rear!
Hi, I have developed a squeak! Or rather the car has - rear nearside rotational noise starts at about 15 mph and at higher speeds sounds like a rubbing noise but at lower speeds more of a rubbery squeak. More prominent when moving or turning to the right but goes under heavy load. It started as an i...

Re: HT Lead problems
Canned air worked a treat. New plugs, leads, oil and filters done. First service for four years according to the history.

Re: HT Lead problems
Basically it wasn't correctly seated on the pulley and wound it self off and cut through the plastic cover and almost make contact with the cambelt!

Re: HT Lead problems
Thanks for the suggestions. I saw one you-tube video where this guy was jet washing the spark plug wells! It was American truck though. I have just bought a can of air, so will give it a go. Funny how a relatively simple job turns into an absolute nightmare with the potential for catastrophic damage...

HT Lead problems
Long story short. Went to change spark plugs today and discovered that the plastic caps on the HT leads had disintegrated. Some of thethe debris has fallen into the spark plug wells. I managed to get most of big bits out using blue tack of all things but there us still a lot of small bits in there a...

You were spot on !
Break in the co-ax just the cable goes into the loom, probably rubbing on boot hinge. A bit of splicing and dicing and all seems well.

Radio reception
Hi My TF has an aftermarket Pioneer stereo, it was there when I bought the car. It has lots of flashing lights and gizmos, as well a a CD, Bluetooth, usb, something to do with sub woofers. What it dissent have however is a decent tuner. I normally listen to the radio when commuting or out and about ...

I've got the rose jointed bracket on mine and it seems a better set up but there was a position one of the FB groups today about the fixing bolts failing in situ.
Anyone heard of this?

Re: Alternator Belt Fright
On mine it was quite easy as the car has an aftermarket kit fitted which was there when I bought it. I'm not sure about the standard set up but I would imagine there are some how to guides out there. Make sure the belt is lined up on the pulleys. Apart from my issue it was a easy! When I compared th...
