Re: Got my eye on an F & a TF
Also the tyres look like they are cheapos, which I probably wouldn't be happy with as these cars can be very sensitive to tyres which I found out when I wrote off a TF in the rain that I'd only just brought 15 minutes before hand...it had Continental Contacts which I later read are bad in the wet......

Re: Got my eye on an F & a TF
full mot no advisory and hpi clear, roll bars, recent hood...all good stuff.
I'm not keen on the wood steeringwheel, I don't think it goes but you could sell that on eBay for £150 as they're quite rare...

Re: Got my eye on an F & a TF
That 160 looks/sounds pretty good! And at £1,600 isn't much more than a 135... Full dealer history from day one - sounds too good to be true but still sounds positive! Recent uprated headgasket, cam belts, just serviced, new exhaust, battery, alloys mint, brakes rebuilt, suspension rebuilt with new ...

Re: Got my eye on an F & a TF
The TF on eBay...what's with the horrible seat covers, are the seats worn? I'd want to paint the rear bumper so factor in that cost. Is the front bumper not sitting right due to further damage? I'd get a 160 if you can, you'll enjoy it more and will only end up spending money try to op the power of ...

Re: Got my eye on an F & a TF
It now says relisted due to time waster, I wander why they didn't buy it, a problem?
I would start a new thread asking if anyone can view a TF in Doncaster with you...
I'd use the hardtop as a bargaining point, try and get it included...

Re: Got my eye on an F & a TF
Think I read that the power hoods can be problematic, but I wouldn't worry too much as I'm sure you could just swap it with a used manual frame cheaply if needed...
Lots of work done which is a good sign of someone caring and looking after it!

Re: Got my eye on an F & a TF
Good decision I think.
The 160 looks nice, are you able to go and see it? Try and take someone on here with you!
I'd ask for full details of the service history.
Also ask if the cam belts been changed recently as they need to be done at least every 5 years and would cost at least £250...

Re: Got my eye on an F & a TF
In many ways I'd rather buy a car that's had loads of failures and advisories that have all been fixing as it's less work for me to do at some point in the future...

Re: Got my eye on an F & a TF
So your MG has gone through more than its last three MOT's with no failures or advisories?
Lucky you!

Re: Got my eye on an F & a TF
I don't it would ever fetch £2,500 in a million years! I think it's probably worth about £600 but then they have a reserve price on it. I don't think it is really very low miles at 70K... I think overall it doesn't present well, maybe a good clean and polish would do it justice, but the interior loo...

Re: AP racing calipers
Think I read the same.
I like the hairpins and I'd be happy to have some small spacers.
Not many Trophy wheels around and I wouldn't put TF wheels on my F.

Re: Are these pads dead?
If your existing rear rotors are glazed, ribbed, rusty etc then It's worth giving those old pads a whirl until the time comes when you have to replace. My thoughts exactly, my discs are a bit ribbed and rusty so thought I could try these pads and see how they fair until I replace with the new MGR d...

Just got a nice new set of 4 pots for £180 delivered which I thought was ok.
Now I need to get a set of Hairpin wheels to fit them under!

Are these pads dead?
The surface of these Yellow Stuff rear pads have broken up a bit and are uneven.
Are they still usable?
