MEMS 1.9 or 3?

My steptronic is a 2001 so right on the year for the changeover from mems 1.9 to 3. How can I tell? Is it just on the ecu?

Mine runs much lower - 60 to 80 and takes a while to get there. How quick is yours getting to 120? Thinking out loud, where does the oil temp gauge get it's feed? Today i replaced the discs and pads all round. They were only replaced a few years and a few thousand miles ago but due to the low use they were extremely corroded and glazed beyond salvage. The 60k mile interval is to cover for wear. The 5 year interval is to cover degradation. Would i risk it? Probably. Would i advise someone else to risk it? Probably not. You can use it as a bargaining chip. If it was pristine and full history and from a dealer then its going to be close to the askin...

Before i bought mine i nearly bought a purple one from liskeard. It needed some work in the end and he dropped the price down to £800. It was on eBay, maybe still is

Oh and good news is that it doesn't appear to have been stood for a long time. According to the mot history. Might be worth checking the brakes and handbrake though
