Re: MGF Freestyle
I cannot upload a picture of this 51 plate Freestyle as its too big and I do not know how to reduce its size, any help would be appreciated thanks. Do you have Flickr or similar web hosting site you can put it on? I can use that to post a picture. Or I could PM you an email address and you could se...

Re: Which HT leads?
I have a MK2 2001 MGF VVC and only needed 2 leads as mine has electronic ignition coils I believe and it's running Mems3.
You could take the engine cover off to quickly check but I suspect you may have 4 but happy to be corrected.

Black Tonneau cover for sale £15- can bring to POL
In good condition, just one slight mark as shown in pictures. Slight yellow dust forming but can be washed and apparently that stops it from ending up all over the car. Surplus to requirements. £15 collected from Swindon or can be taken to POL in a couple of weeks. https://farm1.staticflickr.com/786...

Re: Alarm issues on 2001 MGF
The only two common things was it was quite windy, do these MGF's have an external motion sensor to set off alarm? As far as I know there is an air pressure sensor for the interior which can be triggered In windy conditions when using soft top. If you just lock the door with the key and not the fob...

Alarm issues on 2001 MGF
Right I don't want to drag up old problems but can't really find a definite answer searching old forum posts. I have an intermittent alarm problem. Went off at 3am the other morning for no reason. Then didn't happen again for another few days. This time I happened to be sat at the window looking at ...

Re: Roll Hoops
If it helps the way i cut the T bar was with a hole cutter (think it was 47mm diameter) at each of the 4 centres for the hoops then just used a hacksaw to cut two lines from each hole. The T bar is very brittle and doesn't take kindly to force as I found out to my cost  I've yet to neatly fini...

Re: Roll Hoops
Don't you have to remove the mk1 Xpower ones to gain access to engine cover? Which is a pain I guess My ones fit under the T bar which does mean you have to modify T bar and lose the back speakers. Which may be a bigger pain for some! (modifying T bar wasn't as bad as I thought) Although I'm intendi...

Re: Tyre pressures
Thanks for the info guys.
Wondering if it's worth spending £130 to correct my mistake putting 215 on both front and rear.

Tyre pressures
Reading through the MGF workshop manual it states that front psi should be 24 and back set at 36. Does this seem right? Also I have put 215/40/R16 on both front and back but I read somewhere on here that the fronts should be narrower. Is that correct too? As originally the car had the same on front ...

Centre console arm rest
Are the centre armrest/console/cup holder things specific to F and TF? I mean the whole two piece thing that hinges down. Seen a few on Rimmers I'm interested in but the specs say they're for either one model or the other. I thought they were identical. Like this https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-GRID0...
