Update is that I have changed steering column and all seems good after running for a week now,hope this helps others

Hi EllsoJo Thank You for your reply, I have tried that cleaning the connectors with electoral spray still no good, I have unplugged the 2 connectors from the epas ecu when the steering has failed and then reconnecting them, doing that I get the steering back for a while. I think it could be the loom...

mg tf epas main and sub torque sensor circuit failure
Have problems with the power steering light being on, checked the the large fuse cleaned it all still the same, anyway bought Pscan tool plugged into the car and got this (mg tf epas main and sub torque sensor circuit failure) could anybody help please. Robert
