Re: Window Stop Replacement

Well, thanks to you chaps we can mark this incident "closed"! Dieter it turns out you were spot on with your diagnosis - the window glass stop had indeed ridden up over the zinc stop bolted inside the door. The motor was trying to work, but couldn't do much against the jammed mechanism! Temporarily ...

Re: Window Stop Replacement

Willie (if I may address you thus) and Dieter, thank you both for such swift replies! Dieter, that's exactly the webpage I was after, thanks! I admit Willie I was even apprehensive about removing the door card  New stops (yes, a pair) are on order, so I'll post again once the door cards are of...

Window Stop Replacement

Well, I suppose it's one of those things which has to happen... My passenger side window glass has shot up past its proper stopping position and now no longer aligns with the hood. What's more the motor won't work to pull it down again. I'm guessing the window stop has broken, and the glass has gone...

You're right Stewart, the stand really did look great, Tim's "Trophies" concept worked really well and the whole thing was, IMHO, an outstanding advert for the Register :thumbsu:

Re: Oops, Envy's had a strop...

That's a good point, recently she's started setting the alarm off if I open the boot whilst the car is locked. The norm would be for the boot to open without the alarm setting off, but the bonnet opening would set the alarm off... Carbon copy of mine, Em! Like I say, mine was just a fuse... :) I di...

Re: Oops, Envy's had a strop...

Hey Emma that sounds familiar! Let's see... Interior lights (& boot & bonnet IIRC), clock, radio/CD, and the car thinks the boot's open... yep, exactly the same as KKE a week or three ago  . It WAS just a fuse, but before you ask me which one, I rather lazily had it replaced during a service, ...

Re: Grand Prix Chauffeurs

Well MG's have done it again. This year 2008 the parade cars will be MG TF's yep the old model. The reason the MG car club got the gig again is that there wern't any dramas compared to other car clubs, so a pat on the back for our organisation skills. Damn right! Major kudos to all concerned! :thum...
