Re: How to fix it?

Plug the car into an OBD2 scanner and watch live data on coolant temp (needle starts to move around 68' reaching operating temp at 88')
and loop (open when warming up and accelerating/closed when warm or not accelerating).

Re: Remote Engine Start

I had an after market alarm system on my last ZS180 which had remote start. To be honest it was more of a gimmick than anything else and eventually got removed. The K series warms up quickly, if yours doesn't it has an issue. For those really cold mornings I have heated seats and a heated windscreen...

It looks like a cheap eBay offering - I would consider replacing the whole thing.

Hi and welcome to the forum

A hydraulic hose replacement such as Hydroquip or similar should be able to make one up for you. They will use you old one as a pattern.

Re: New car day

Did you sort the MIL? On The MG/R(over) cars the warning light will come on if there is a perceived event likely to cause poor emisions. The light will clear after 5 full ignition cycles after the event was cleared. It is not uncommon for a new owner to see the light soon after taking over a car as ...

Re: Rear brake line replacement tips please

I used a premade kit on mine too, much easier than trying to guess.

I had my engine lowered at the time making access a bit easier but this is defiantly an engine cover off job.

Re: Are there any suppliers left?

If you want the same "bounce" as the OE rubber bushes but in polyurethane look for shure 70.
A few years ago I found a poly bush supplier on eBay who could supply the harshness you required in a variety of colours, I got 70 in lime green to compliment my HFF VVC.

Re: An issue with my early VVC

Hi and welcome to the forum. When you start the car do you turn on the ignition and wait a few seconds for the auto choke to realign itself before turning the starter over? Best advice is to wait a few seconds, especially with a cold engine. The fuel system on the early cars is using technology dati...

Re: Is there a modification or update available

Hi and welcome to the forum.

All car mirrors have been designed to fold since the 1967 update to the construction and use regulations.
This was to reduce injuries to pedestrians struck by the mirrors.

On another car I just had a new flexi welded in to an existing pipe.
I've had this done too.

Re: Hood & frame cross compatibility

The early MGF had a different frame to later MGF and TF. The change happened in mid 1997, half way through the run of the mk1 MGF. Early frames fit later cars and vice versa, however early hoods only fit early cars and late hoods only fit late frames. To tell the difference in hoods early ones had s...

Hi and welcome to the forum.

I have had several sets of Toyos over the years and will have more when the time comes.

A full service changing all the filters and fluids, including petrol filter and clutch fluid is a good idea.

The stepspeed box like clean filters and fluids.

Re: Soft Ride/Comfort Suspension Kit

I converted my MGF to TF subframes from a pre-production TF but using a softride kit from Rimmers. Unfortunately I was unaware of the upgraded rear bolts and had both fail. The nearside went 30 miles from home which made for an interesting drive back. The the offside one went 300 yards from home and...

Re: Front Lambda Sensor Removal

Is this a 4 stud or 6 stud system?

Just a little warning - the first time I changed a probe (4 stud) the thread came out with the probe! If I had known what I do know I might have considered a helicoil but luckily I had a spare manifold so swapped them over.
