Re: Delay Circuit for coolant alarm
Hi John, They have not sent you a circuit diagram, only an overlay. SMD technology is a sod to work on with the components being so small. The timer chip is obviously not a 556 timer (dual 555) from what I have read on their website. A proper circuit would help with fault finding in the board. Have ...

Re: heater resistor coils
Hi Mykel, Yes, still building these to order. I am trying to write a full article on doing a self-build for anyone interested and capable of wielding a soldering iron. It's only when I got into seriously doing a write-up that I realised there is an awful lot of detail to cover. Unfortunately, I had ...

Re: heater resistor coils
Hi Dennis,
PM me your e-mail address so that I can send you the fitting instructions for an electronic speed controller (ESC) for the blower motor. The file is too big to send you via a PM from this website. We can take it from there.
Regards.

Re: fitting electric boot release - where to hook +12v
Check that the solenoid plunger and its sleeve within the solenoid are absolutely clean of any lubricant. The pull from the solenoid to the boot opening level should be a straight line so there's no side thrust to the plunger. However saying all that, I suspect your boot lock may be a bit too tight....

Re: 04 mgtf window adjustment - window now jammed
Hi scimitargtc, It sounds like the window has jumped past the stop. You will need to pull the inner skin away from the outer skin of the door to let the window back down past the stop. You can actually see this when viewing from the top. Obvious when you know what you are looking for. Hth. willyphix...

Re: Standard TF Suspension Settings
Hi Phil, Thanks for your input. Both VHS and Roger Parker suggest replacing the springs - like for like. However I have sent for some polybushes for the top end and some additional spacers from Rimmers. The car has only done just over the 17k miles. I hope to get round to seeing what I can do within...

Re: MODIFYING THE CIGAR LIGHTER CIRCUIT
Thanks for all the replies. I like your idea FBOG. I will order a couple. I will hardwire the 3 way cigar lighter adaptor via the piggyback fuse and maybe fit it in the cubby hole forward of the gearstick. I'd drill a small hole at the back of the cubby hole and pass the wiring though it. See photos...

MODIFYING THE CIGAR LIGHTER CIRCUIT
Hi guys, I'm hoping someone out there can help with my problem. My 2005 TF135 has the cigar lighter circuit permanently live and I wish to change that to being live only when the ignition is on. Fuse 1 (10 amps) supplies power to the CL and as I don't have aircon I can use the switched supply at fus...

I can concur with the postings already made about MGF20. Jacquie and I had a thoroughly enjoyable time. Many, many thanks to all those that worked so hard at making the event memorable. Meeting up with some of contributers to this website was just great. It's so nice to be able to put faces to names...

Re: Exhaust...best for a British sports car sound?
MY TF135 (registration J8859) is not too far from original. I have a Daytona back box, K & N Apollo air filter fitted. It was re-mapped by Z & F which gave me better fuel consumption and a bit more torque and bhp. I'll be at MGF20 if you wish to hear the sound. Nice throaty exhaust when you give it ...

Re: MPi stalling
Hi Charles, As RobboMC has mentioned, my next thought would be a low output from the crankshaft sensor. The nature of the beast would mean enough signal strength as the revs are increased. The engine might lose syncronisation because of low output at tickover. There's a threshold voltage where pulse...

Re: MPi stalling
Hi Charles, My thoughts are towards the fuel delivery also. Is it possible to wire your pump up (temporarily) directly to a 12 volt source. If your problem goes then, as suggested, there may be a solder joint problem somewhere. Solder joints are not as reliable as crimped or wire wrapped joints. Goo...

Re: MGF - TWO radiators?
The grounding circuit through the heater fan switch is separate to the ground, through the switch, for the heater fan, so losing fan speeds 1 & 2 will not stop the aircon system running. You will just not get the cold air blown through on 1 & 2 settings. You will only feel it BLOW cold on 3 & 4 if t...

Re: Standard TF Suspension Settings
Hi folks, I need some expert advice on my TF height settings. I have a 2005 TF135 which has only done around 16k miles. My problem is there are several speed bumps which I am scraping when I go over them. They are too sharp a rise and too narrow to avoid scraping the lip underneath the front bumper ...

Re: MGF 1998 FAN RESISTORS
Hi James, Good place to put the resistor pack on the evaporator unit. Can the whole job be done with the aircon already in situ? Not being able to get up close and friendly to an aircon system , I've made my esc after reading Roger Parker's article in EMG some years ago. As well as not being able to...
