Late TF Front Speaker Upgrade
I'm wanting to upgrade the OE speakers with a pair of Alpines, and as our TF was 2004 registered, the speakers and plastic cowls cannot be separated, unlike the earlier models where the rivets can be drilled out. AFAIK, the easiest way to mount the new speakers, is to buy a pair of Autoleads adaptor...

Re: TF wanted for photoshoot
That looks familiar, did you find it hard to stop as you had no focal point ? (It's all one colour with no edges). To be honest, Adrian, I drove in very slowly, with John giving instructions as to the angle he wanted the car. I did ask if the OE rear lights would be preferred, and as I thought, the...

Re: TF wanted for photoshoot
I think that "original condition" would mean that. Various subtle mods would be acceptable but roll hoops, the front splitter and lexus rear lights would confuse the reader into thinking they are standard items. Good luck though, I may be wrong. Thanks, Adrian. Tim has been in touch to let me know ...

Re: TF wanted for photoshoot
Thanks very much for thinking of me, Simon..without your PM, I wouldn't have found this thread. I would certainly be interested, but the "Spark" has a few modifications from OE, so i'm not sure if that would rule the car out. Appearance wise, the car has the X Power chrome Roll Hoops, a Seat Leon Cu...

Re: car service
Ron, you have an X-Part centre right on your doorstep. Head for Leabrooks and D&D are on the main road on the right.

Re: Another Tyre Question
You ask a good question, Paul. I suspect your tyre man will be correct in that a ContiSport and Zero Nero won't be that much more than the T1R and especially Falken 912. After much thought, I think the safest course would be to order a new set of T1R's, assuming they have a high enough load rating. ...

Re: Refitting Battery after storage
Good news on this problem. I tried leaving the Ignition switched on for between 30 and 45 seconds before engaging the Starter. Everything is now working as it should, and I can now fit a few mods. i've been gathering over the Winter :) The two X-Part Centres I contacted weren't particularly helpful,...

Re: Refitting Battery after storage
Thanks Rob and Tipper.
Yes, I have tried to re-sych the Fobs, I've also examined the Pektron (it's very easy to gain access) and cannot see a loose plug or any moisture. I've also asked the same question to the org'ers, there is someone else with an 05 car experiencing the same problem

Re: Refitting Battery after storage
After doing some Google research, it seems John (Sparky135) had exactly the same problem in February this year, and the Main Dealer found some moisture around the Alarm ECU. After being removed and left out to dry, the problem was solved. Can anyone tell me where the Alarm ECU is located and how eas...

Re: Refitting Battery after storage
Well, the problem is back with a vengeance. I refitted the Battery yesterday after a gap of approx. 11 weeks, and have the same symptoms. The Fob (with new Battery) doesn't seem to do anything, the Engine will fire up for two seconds before the Immobiliser cuts in, and then refuses to start. Once ag...

Personally I use the Lidl charger - every bit as ...... Same here, great little charger. Aldi also have one in at the moment, same design, for £12.99 :thumbsu: Just thought I'd post this link up for you two guys, I think it gives a good explanation of why the CTEK is noticeably more expensive than ...

Re: Hello, Newbie from Notts.
Thanks for the welcome you guys :) I'm a few miles north of Nottingham, John. I'll be involved with the Chesterfield MG Group next year (the Membership Secretary there has yet another 135 Spark in Sonic), but I'll also keep a close eye on what's happening on this Forum too. A new region would be gre...

Hello, Newbie from Notts.
Hi everyone. After visiting your Stand at the N.E.C. yesterday, I was prompted to say "hello" by John (aka sparky135). I purchased my first MG after almost 30 years of TR7 ownership in the summer, a 135 Spark for my partner, Lyn, to run as a second car during the warmer months. By coincidence, John ...

Refitting Battery after storage
Hello every one. After being made very welcome at the Register Stand at the N.E.C. yesterday, I was in conversation with one of your members (Sparky135) about starting the car after the Battery had been disconnected for a period of time. Both of us have a 135 Spark (no surprise there given the simil...
