Re: MG Live 2011

Great weekend all round apart from the Friday night weather !! ONe of the best MG LIve's yet I think - just need to improve Saturday night a bit but I gather the club were a little let down over that. However gave us a chance for a second barbecue back on the campsite ! Here's some pics from the we...

Re: 26April'10 10th Ann'y of MG Sport & Racing and XPower Br

As I gently polished my MGZS in XPower Grey, the engine gently purred as I read out the idea of an XPower gathering. Got to be done.

PS; No I havent lost it.

Re: Coolant leak, well more of a gush!

Also check the underbody steel pipes havent rusted, as happened to me recently. Even then after I had those replaced it nearly got home and the hose blew, as fixing the pipes put the pressure back on the hoses. I might get it back for the weekend.

Re: Hi from Basingstoke

Hi Andy Like the car and welcome to the forum, I got mine for a real random reason. I origanally bought a Metro to keep the mileage down on my ZS, but I had got used to people commenting on the ZS and when I got the Metro, friends laughed and not to mention lack of power steering and central locking...

Re: Which is the best Club?

I must agree with the above statement that people are important, I myself joined the MGOC first as I was sure it was the best, I then discovered the MGCC and also joined that I read both magazines, but I look forward to the safety fast more so as I feel it caters more for the modern MG. I myself own...

Re: Head Gasket Repair

My mechanic was bringing it back to me tonight got within half a mile of home and a pipe blew filling the cockpit full of smoke, not major I know but I just wan...

Re: Overheating MGF.

Thanks Geoff After your reply, I had the car checked out turns out that the underbody pipes had corroded, and to add insult to injury the cat had gone as well. Good day all round. I think I have now replaced most of the inner workings of the car, previous owner killed of the car, but she has enjoyed...

Re: Hi From North Lincolnshire

Hi Coopermg

A big welcome from myself as well, needed to also point out that another good reason for joining the MG Car Club, is that you can save a packet on car insurance, through the club. Can only be good news alround.

Have fun see you soon.

Hi Steven

Good choice of car, don't worry I have an MGF 1.8i and an MG ZS 120+ and a lot of people say that I am having a mid life crisis! But I don't care it's a passion and I have no thoughts on swopping cars.

Re: AlloyGator

Recently changed the ZS to smoked chrome against XPower Grey looks great, havent got to doing the MGF yet.
Just make sure you do as I do and park in the middle of the road, that way they stay in great condition, paranoid about damaging them.

Re: Overheating MGF.

Have had similar problems with mine. I have had the head gasket done, but have suffered overheating on a few occasions, once emptying 75% of the expansion tank and the other times the levels had just dropped a bit, i always carry anti-freeze in the boot as a backup, its has been a pain but keep chec...
