Re: Decat pipe ?

On my old VVC with a Trevor Taylor exhaust after removing the cat I noticed a slight increase in noise, more popping on over run but I also noticed the performance seemed to have reduced slightly possibly due to reduced back pressure so decided o refit the cat.

Re: A few technical questions

Amongst my group of close friends 1 has a business doing custom interiors, another doing vinyl wrap and plastidip, another in automotive electronics so this project is planned to be a show car for the 3 companies. Re: A few technical questions

Thanks for your replies, it's been very helpful on deciding what version of the F\TF to start with. We had originally planned to use a Mk1 F for cost reasons but now have decided on using a TF160 as the base for our project. I remember from many years ago that the induction and exhaust systems were ...

A few technical questions

Hi all, It's been a few years since I last had an MGF or TF but now I have a project so I'm back. It's not an F or TF but a prototype kit based heavily on a Mk1 MGF. I have a few questions that I hope someone can help me with. 1, How to the speedo, fuel gauge, coolant temp and oil temp gauges work? ...

Re: wet

I agree Rob, mixing the GSD2 and GSD3 is a very bad idea, GSD3 all round should be ok in terms of handling. However the other reason I don't recommend GSD3's is that my first F had them fitted when I bought it, they were fitted a few days before I got the car for its MOT, the following year for the ...

Re: wet

As Rob and others said the cars handling is very much dependant on the tyres fitted, especially in the wet. I had an F on cheap tyres and I may as well of been driving on ice in the wet, the tyres would lose grip and the wheels would lock up so easily. I've had 2 F's and currently have 2 TF's on dec...
