Well my TF has overheated, the oil temperature gauge went up to max, then a few minutes later water temperature went to maximum. No steam to speak off Let it cool down a little and drove home about 2km. Oil is clear and almost up to max level to max no mayo and showing no Oil in the water just minim...

I am asking for a friend, which tyres are being recomended for a standard F, 15". car is driven in a spirited mode but not track. Toyo tyres are fitted but worn out.

Well after a long wait , postage takes ages our end due to COVID and as I am useless at any thing electronic my son in law was roped in. Well he came through and the window works.

Have checked the switch which seems fine. Every thing else would seem to work and my problem seems to be in the Pectron SCU.
Thats going to be my next task sorting that out. ZMoving forward slowly...

Used the TF for the first time in a while, pressed the drivers side window switch, window went down smoothly BUT wont go back up. Tried the passenger side switch I thought a Fuse. That worked. Looked at the fuses and saw that they have seperat fuses for left and right. Swapped them over and the pass...

I would have thought that there should be an A/C shop that could sujest or rven make up something. My cables that adjust the heating have rusted in the on position so finding it hard to get cooling!

I have Toyo R888R's 205/45x16's all round, I cant speak higly enough about them. I do mainly track days but have to get to the track the longest distance so far is 220KM,Ararat One Tree Hill Climb, Winton Raceway 180Km, Phillip Island 80KM and Sandown International Raceway 16KM, Rob Roy Hillclimb 24...

Fires are still burning some only 20KM from city of Melbourne. The weather has cooled a little and a little rain in the last 24hours has helped, but thats our lot for another week.

Sprints cut short
Well after waiting two hours after suggested start time due to fog, I did a warm up lap then 2/3rds of the fast lap NO gears, clutch centre separated from the rest. That was last weekend. I now have my car back with a heavier duty clutch fitted and whilst out replaced slave and master cylinder ready...

Well it seems it was the cap.
Have just completed a weekend of super sprints and hill climbs, water temp gauge stayed in correct position.

For our club super sprints and hill climbs I used Toyo R1R's on my F with 15" wheels, they are also a good road tyre as well but a bit soft!

Well looking for leaks, pressure testing, bleeding and the fault seems to be the cap on the tank. The cap was replaced less than twelve months ago.
After various trips the longest 20km all seems well. Fingers crossed and see what happens when I take it on a long run over the weekend....
