Re: Possible Pre-production press car being broken?
And if it was N810SVC, then it was a press car, because you can see it in the "competitors" panel on this road test of the Lotus Elise in EVO - http://hazelnet.org/brochures/roadtests ... 20111s.pdf

Re: Possible Pre-production press car being broken?
DVLA have N810SVC on a SORN, but there is absolutely no MOT history for the car, so it must have been off the road for a very long time. As you say, impossible to tell whether this is the same vehicle from the pictures - and sadly, the one clue that might strengthen its identity as an early press ca...

Re: Your experience
Owned my MGF from new, purchased in January 1996, and ended up building another as a race car, which has been racing for 15 years - so yes, they're good fun and a fantastic supporting community. Great and very affordable parts supply, the K-series is shared with Caterham and Lotus, so a massive tuni...

There may not be a huge amount of car left by now - but worth contacting the vendor?

Re: Hardtop Headlining Renewal
It is less difficult than you think, because until the glue has fully cured, you can peel apart and reapply.
My attempts at doing this are documented here: http://mgf.ultimatemg.com/group2/DIY/in ... lining.htm

Re: Definitive info on Freelander wiper motor
I haven't checked, but perhaps a ZR or ZS (R25/ R45) wiper motor might be an option, as they will likely have the same internal wiring as the one used on the MGF/TF

Re: MGF Dampers removal info
An impact driver will do the job very easily. If the body of the damper rotates, then I use I belt-type oil filter removal tool to hold it stationary.

Re: Definitive info on Freelander wiper motor
Not sure why you'd want to do this, but the advantage of the Freelander wiper motor would be that you should be able to make use of the variable intermittent function (although this is much more than a simple motor swap!!!) So firstly, why are you looking at Freelander wiper motors? Is it that you w...

Re: Dashboard removal
It's an easy, but big job. Fixing the speedo cable is easy though - usually they fail close to the gearbox, so not a dashboard out task. :) To remove the dash, you have to work methodically from the rear of the interior forward, and everything is MUCH easier if you also remove the seats. Everything ...

Re: swop seats from a 1997 MGF to a 2005 TF ?
Definitely feasible. I did the swap the other way, with TF seats into a 1995 MGF. Depending on the year of the car, it can be plug and play, otherwise either swap connectors, or swap over the seatbelt anchors from the existing seats to the replacements.

Re: pscan on an ipad?
I bought a very cheap windows tablet PC, which was fine to run the PSCAN - but because of the way that Apple manage what apps can or cannot be run on their devices, I don't think that Phillip has implemented this on Apple mobile devices...?

Re: Pektron remote fobs
Paul (Technozen - you can find him on eBay, and probably other places too) is the man to talk to. The Pektron unit is a bit of a minefield for a variety of reasons. The older Lucas system is way more robust and simpler - but that is not much help to you. Hopefully Paul can help sort this, but otherw...

Re: Battery isolator
You can absolutely use a battery isolator on our cars. I have one on Project Shed - in fact two, but one is a competition unit for killing the engine in the event of an emergency, while the other is an isolator in the earth strap. In some ways, it is easier to simply disconnect the earth strap from ...
