Re: Roll hoops cosmetic?
Thanks for the replies. I have sent off a couple of enquiries to some custom roll cage builders and also dropped a mail to saftey devices. The safety devices web site says that they dont have anything for the soft top currently, so I mailed them just to be sure. Also, it turns out they are just up t...

Roll hoops cosmetic?
I have had a couple of good high speed spins on track and at my last targa rally the car in front of me rolled. I'm beginning to think its time to approach the roll over protection issue. I also use the car as a daily drive so I want to keep the hood. My initial though was to go for some Mike Satur ...

Re: Uneven tyre wear on track days.
Thanks for the reply Rob. That is pretty much what I thought and as I am planning on keeping the car multi-purpose I will just have to put up with it. I will give the tyre temperature gauge a try. That is an excellent suggestion. I might also try something like the yoko advan ad08r tyres. Have you t...

Uneven tyre wear on track days.
Hello All, I have been using my 1999 MGF VVC for general use, several track days and also a targa rally. When I got it (about 6 months ago) I got a new set of TOYO T1Rs, had the hydragas pumed up and got the 4 wheel alignment done. I have kept my tyre pressures at the recommended settings and also t...

Hi Andrew,
Having just trashed my T1-Rs I was thinking the same thing as you. Should I try the R1-R? How did you get on in the longer term. Were they as good at the T1-Rs, which I can't fault.
Cheers,
Alex.

Closed induction and puddles
I have a 52mm throttle body and an ITG Maxogen fitted to my 1999 MGF VVC. Currently the cold air pipe takes air from below the car and points straight down. This works really well and I don't imagine it will be a problem for normal road use or trackdays, however I do the odd rally (one so far in the...

Re: TF Tyres
I got a set of TOY T1-Rs from http://www.etyres.co.uk. They came to my house and fitted a set for £240. The service was great and they came round the day after ordering. I would definately recomend them.
