Winter Warmer Run - Sun 8th November

Post by TimM » Mon Oct 05, 2009 8:59 pm

Don't know where , Don't Know when but I know we'll be on the Winter Warmer Run some sunny day ......

Havn't worked it out yet but this will hopefully be the date of our traditional Winter Warmer Run for your diary - it's actually not that far away so I'd better sort something out soon.....unless I have a willing volunteer ......perhaps.....maybe ?

Have you not been asked to map out this years run? :( last years run was great :thumbsu: , so much hard work you must have put into it.

As a matter of fact I have just managed to "volunteer" myself again - must remember to keep my mouth shut in future!

I'll be giving it some thought over the next couple of days and will post when I have a start point!

Think I've got this one sorted now, on Tim's suggestion I have tried something a bit different so I have mapped out on Google Maps and provided it works out OK when I try it for myself this weekend I will not be producing normal routecards with but providing copies of the Google Maps directions... Should be interesting!

Anyway the start point is the services just off the A23 at Hickstead, link below:

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&sourc ... 9&t=h&z=15

We will be travelling around West Sussex and, without giving too much away, will be finishing on the coast near Eastbourne....

Hopefully not too far for everyone, and maybe even some of the south coasters may join us????

Forgot to say, probably 10:30 for 11am start - I'll confirm timings after I've done the test run this weekend.

Sorry, chaps - highly unlikely this year. 7/8 is the go-live weekend when we cut over all the computer servers from our offices to an out-sourced data centre. While nothing can possibly go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go ...

Sorry, as I was saying, while nothing can possibly go wrong, there is the slightest possiblility that something might, so although it should all be over on Saturday, Sunday has to be reserved at the moment.

But, should the good technology-fairies turn up on Saturday, then we will re-schedule Sunday.

Will be good to see you if you can make it, but being in IT myself I won't be holding my breath!

Well ... did a test run today, very enjoyable apart from the fact that pretty much the first turning was a private road

Route now altered so I'll have to try it again at some point :D

Finish point looks good though, should be able to get a nice carvery lunch or A La Carte for those who prefer...

Couple of pictures below, was very windy and the surfers were out in force...

And finally a picture of the ZT at the finish - don't expect a clean car at the end :D :D
