Hi Adrian,

Thanks for your reply. We will be coming down the M40 and probably M25, M4, so would be long way round to meet up, but thanks for the offer.

We're going to aim for about 4pm at Wimbledon.

Gary

Looking forward to this as our first MGF register event. We will be travelling from Buckingham, North Bucks. Anyone fancy hooking up for the run in to Wimbledon?

Adrian I have an MG fan coming over from Malta, she would love to come on the run and is stopping at Canary Wharf, is there anywhere on the run through there that I could pick her up from ?

Registration update:

So far we have just over 40 cars booked onto the run

Sunday 25th August is the last day to register for this run if you wish to pre-order a rally plate as a reminder of the event.

We have recently found out, we are still able to accept registrations up to Sunday 1st September BUT there will NOT be an opportunity for ordering a rally plate if you book after the 25th August.

Please remember only cars pre-booked by the 1st September can join us on this event.

Hi TIbs,
Thanks for your reply. We could meet up on one of the M40 services, if that is ok with you. Either OXford or Beaconsfield. If you let us know which is best for you and an approximate time we can meet you there.

Yes of course that would be very easy, however I fear by the time we get to Canary Wharf nearly all of London will have been passed. May I suggest she jumps on the Jubilee Line tube at Canary Wharf and joins the run much earlier, even at the start as you will not have a problem finding each other, the start point is close to several tube stations and it's a short bus ride to the start point from Wimbledon station or she could be collected from the station.

We would love to have a guest from such a lovely island so have a think about this and I can make the plans for you. Will she ride with you or does she need a lift ?

Gary

Is this the right services
Esso M40 Cherwell Valley Motorway Service Area
Northampton Rd, M40 Junction, Bicester OX27 7RD

It looks like its about 1.30hrs from there to Simons Diner according to Google Maps so I would suggest meeting at around 14:00ish and leaving 14:30 latest

I will see you at mine, then happily follow :thumbsu:

I have looked at the trains etc from Canary wharf and they look a bit of a nightmare, Jane will be traveling with me on the run, but is there anyone coming from that way that could pick her up and give her a lift to the meet point ?

Are you sure ??, the trains from Canary Wharf on the Jubilee Line run every 90 seconds, I was an instructor and used to teach drivers on that line. The Docklands Light Railway run every few minutes, however we can drop by on the way to the start and collect her. One of our cars will have a spare seat I'm sure. We plan on leaving our area at 14.30 so we will be in the area from 15.15 or thereabouts.

How will we recognise her and where should we meet her, there are a number of places in Canary Wharf, therefore may I suggest we pick her up from her hotel ?.

She is stopping at the Novotel and will be ready and waiting by the doors at what ever time you say ..
Tall stunning blonde with a fabulous tan, I don't think you will miss her ;)
She is just scared of getting off or on at the wrong stop on the tubes and getting lost :(
Thank you so very much again for all your help :)

Okey dokey, she's only got to listen out for a bunch of noisy MG's and we'll take care of her and Jan on the run too :D

If you have not received it, please check your spam folders first. If its not there let me know & I will re send. :thumbsu:

We have 52 cars registered so far.

If you have not yet entered, you have until 1st September. ;)
This is a great event in aid of a very worthy cause!

So come along, join in & enjoy!!!
