Basingstoke Festival of Transport - Sun 10th May

Post by TimM » Thu Apr 23, 2009 12:06 am

I have a limited number of club passes for this event which has become a regular feature on the F Register calendar. To make sure you get one please put your name down here. It's usually a great show with hundredes of classics, buses, commercials, motorbikes, traction engines, side stalls etc etc . You can park on site in the club areas with the MGF Register but space is limited as this is such a big show - so get your name down now ! For those travelling along the M3 from London we usually meet at Fleet Services and drive in together - I'll hand the passes out to those meeting there. For those coming from elsewhere I'll post them out. Just one pass per car. Entry to the show is actually free as its in a public park, so if you come in an ordinary car or miss out on the passes you can still park in the public car park a short walk away and visit the show for free ! MGs only in our paddock though !

Hi Damien, copied from the SE page :

Last year we met at the southbound Fleet services on the M3 (between junctions 4a & 5 ) I think we got there around 9 ish to allow time to get on site before 10 when the show opens

For those meeting at Fleet Services we'll be gathering at around 9am . Southern services London to Basingstoke.

Everyone MUST be on site at the Memorial Park, Basingstoke by 1030 at the latest and bear in mind the later you leave it to 1030 the more horrendous the queue to get in becomes !

MEMORIAL PARK, CROSSBOROUGH HILL BASINGSTOKE RG21 4AG

Paul - I'll need your address now if I post your pass hoping to arrive by Saturday morning otherwise you'll have to meet us at Fleet and come in with the group.

Paula - Hadn't realised I was posting yours but it's in the post 1st class now so should get to you tomorrow or saturday.

My pass arrived...thanks Tim!!

I'm driving in from Kinsgckere, which is on the A339 a little way north of Basingstoke. I'll be trying to go in early ish tho (9/9.30 ish) so I can take pics of everyone arriving....

Early on a sunday, the best way from the north is down the A34 and hop off nto the A339 at Newbury, probably leaving the A34 at Tothill services

cheers
